- Replying to @HarrySymeouIt’s always been this way. It’s an FA event and therefore it’s the FA Cup winners who have always traditionally been the ‘host’. The league champions are invited to take part - but if a team has done the double, they invite the league runners up instead. I got schooled yesterday!
