    Journalists have a legal and ethical obligation to send questions and request comment from our politicians. Going after them for doing their basic duty is unacceptable and dangerous behaviour.

    The CAJ has verified numerous reports that the #RCMP have threatened to arrest #cdnmedia journalists at #Wetsuweten Territory for taking photos. We remind @BCRCMPMedia that Canada is not a police state. Police do not have the right to control what is published.

    This kind of conduct towards @atRachelGilmore is shocking. You may disagree with people's views or reporting. That is fair criticism. But at the end of the day, journalists are also human beings. Efforts to harass and intimidate are beyond the bounds of acceptable behaviour.

    Google & Facebook have shut out Canadian news orgs from their platforms and decided to be dictators of what information Canadians can search, discover and consume. This violates the very foundations of an open internet. Corporate selfishness is kneecapping Canadian democracy.

    BREAKING: The CAJ and other media orgs have won our court challenge against the RCMP in their restriction of press freedom at Fairy Creek in B.C. This is a win for journalists reporting there and for all journalists across the country. The media will not be suppressed.

    According to news reports, employees from Alberta government's @CDNEnergyCentre have identified themselves as reporters. Government agency PR staff are neither independent nor unbiased. We ask that they end this misleading practice immediately. #ableg
