- We're trying something new on the marketing team at @buffer... "Slack-Off Fridays" - a day dedicated to heads-down work, big projects, learning, or personal improvement. Results so far have been awesome. We're finding that the world does not end when there is no Slack 😄

- Met with several leaders focused on remote work last night. One big takeaway: Feeling isolated happens to remote workers AND those who work in an office. Isolation is more of a work culture issue than it is a remote worker issue. Culture starts with leadership and trickles down.
- Unsurprisingly, "manager mode" is a foreign concept at @Shopify. Every leader from the top down is expected to know the intricate details of their team's work and the work of the teams they interact with. It's not micromanaging, it's good leadership. You can still provide

- I've learned that if I keep email/@SlackHQ open throughout the day I'm constantly working in a "reactive" state. I.e., regularly checking for updates and incoming messages. If I close email/Slack for 1-2 hours at a time, I'm much more productive and generally less stressed.
