- Texas BBQ never ceases to amaze me. Tex-Ethiopian BBQ at Smoke ‘N Ash BBQ in South Arlington. Doro wat w/ smoked chicken, anyone? Lunch ended w/ Ethiopian coffee and Texas sheet cake w/ berbere spiced pecans.
- RRR (on Netflix) is the most ridiculously fun action movie I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a buddy movie where one of the stars fights 1,000 men at once. Another picks up a motorcycle and throws it as his enemies. And then there’s this scene:
- Egyptian-Tex barbecue in Austin. Cairo native Kareem El-Ghayesh is serving up smoked lamb chops, smoked brisket shawarma, and ribs glazed w/ pomegranate molasses at KG BBQ.
- Gutted. From 2011 when we met for the first time. He said, “we’ll be doing business together.” He published my book 2 years later. #RIPBourdain
- To the Texas restaurants opening their dining rooms today: I won’t see you there, but I know many of you felt like you had no other choice for your livelihood’s sake, and the government has offered little to assist. I truly wish the best for you, your customers, and your staff.
- In line this morning at Franklin BBQ thinking back to one of the most memorable days of my life. Thanks Tony.
- Who would be interested in a list of the best Texas style barbecue joints in the country that aren’t in Texas?
- I have a BBQ show! The Cooking Channel will air the pilot for Smokelandia on June 27th at 7:30pm Central. If enough of y’all watch it they might even let me make episode 2. #smokelandia
- Ok @JohnCornyn, if you send me that brisket recipe (Temp? Whole brisket or flat? Covered/uncovered? How many onion soup packets?), I’ll recreate it the best I can at home. My curiosity has outweighed my better judgement, and I gotta know how it tastes.

- Snow’s BBQ in Lexington has been closed since March. They’ll reopen on 11/14. Great news for TX BBQ, but don’t even think about going near Texas treasure Tootsie Tomanetz w/o wearing a mask.
- If you haven’t seen the new BBQ season of Chef’s Table on Netflix, I have a suggestion on which episode to start with. Great work @snowsbbq
