Possibly the most insane single exposure I've ever taken. Just as I asked my friend Jens to point at Comet 46P/Wirtanen, a meteor streaked underneath the open star cluster Pleiades (M45).
Jens - 150m
Meteor - 85 km
Comet 46P - 11 million km
Pleiades - 444 light years

- A spectacular sight this morning as Venus and the Moon rose together. Here they are shortly after appearing from behind Sugarloaf mountain in the #BreconBeacons
- Damn it was good to see the bioluminescent plankton once again last night. Oh how I've missed it! Gower Coast, Wales ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ
- If it's not obvious from my reaction, this Geminid fireball meteor absolutely blew my mind!
00:00 - I think I've captured the highest detailed image of the Milky Way above Stonehenge ever!๐ I'll post some crops of the detail in reply to this thread and you can check out exactly how I took this photo over on my YouTube channel - youtu.be/jTI5lkekjbs
- A couple of nights ago I captured an image I planned over 3 years ago. The Moon only gets into the right position in the nights around the full Moons of November, December and January, so there's only about 12 days of the year it's possible. (1/2)
- A 5-hour sequence of the full moon fading into total eclipse and back again from Belle Tout lighthouse in Sussex (1 shot every 3 mins). The next time this is visible from the UK is not until 2029! Vlog coming on Sunday - youtube.com/c/AlynWallace
- The Moon, Saturn and its rings (View full screen!). So last night there was a conjunction between our Moon and Saturn and this shot, taken at 600mm, even allows you to see the rings of Saturn Distance to the Moon - 384,400 km Distance to Saturn - 1.2 billion km
- Finally I got to see #cometNEOWISE from some proper dark skies in the #BreconBeacons. Everything planned meticulously to the degree, it unfolded like a dream. Maybe it was a dream. Somebody pinch me...
- #CometNEOWISE perfectly framed by the folding landscape of the Elan Valley and beautifully reflected in the water of Caban Coch reservoir. With most hunting for clear northern horizons, I knew I'd find solitude deeper in the valley๐
- Bioluminescent plankton at Three Cliffs Bay last night. Swimming under the milky way surrounded by the blue glow was beyond words #Swansea
- Stoked to be announced as the winner of the 'Landscapes at Night' category of Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020. An old image but always remained a personal fav. Congrats to all who had success this year ๐๐ (Portrait photo needs a click)
- Safe to say last night was one of the best I've had in Wales. On the Snowdon horseshoe above the clouds welcoming the Milky Way core back to the night sky. Cheeky SOOC...
