Zissou (b. London, 1975) is a photographer based in Bali, Indonesia. Over the past decade he has gained acclaim for his candid environmental portraiture, nature and documentary photography, developing a distinctive visual vocabulary that captures the natural world and an intimate framing of humanity. The interplay of chance, available light and contingent moments is balanced by a highly considered approach to composition, lending a poetic resonance to the images he creates. Since 2010 he has lived in a tropical forest in an open-air bamboo home he designed, becoming an advocate for regenerative living and a harmony with nature that continues to inform his practice. His work has been featured in Acne Paper, Vogue Japan, The Daily Telegraph, Ignant, Fisheye Magazine and National Geographic.
