DNWML 50th Anniversary Event Sponsorships
Celebrate 50 Years of ImpactDisability Network Washtenaw Monroe Livingston is proudly celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2026. That's 50 years of empowerment, access, community support, and advocacy. The Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living (AACIL) was founded in 1976, by John Weir, Rick Weir, and Corki McCorkle, with the help of a few other community members. Their initial goals were to provide physically disabled individuals with peer support, information on accessible housing and transportation, and attendant care options. Over the course of the last 50 years, we have grown and expanded services, provided education and training to community organizations and businesses, assisted folks with transitioning back to community living, championed employment opportunities for people with disabilities and created recreation events—all while advocating for a more inclusive community for all.Now you can join us by sponsoring one of DNWML’s 50th Anniversary Events. Your sponsorship will help people with disabilities access advocacy, education, and support that strengthens their independence.Your sponsorship supports:Community events that bring the disability community and allies togetherResources that help people reach personal, work, and life goalsPrograms that promote access, choice, and community living
