Dear Neighbor,
It’s been an exciting week here in Yonkers. We were proud to host Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day at City Hall, welcoming about 30 young visitors eager to learn more about how their city works.
They had the chance to meet employees across departments, see firsthand the important work being done every day, and even tour my office.
One highlight? The LEGO model of City Hall (originally gifted for LEGOLAND’s 10th anniversary at Ridge Hill). It quickly became the most popular attraction with our young guests.
We also officially kicked off Yonkers 250, marking the beginning of our lead-up to America’s 250th birthday. In the weeks and months ahead, you’ll start to see more banners and flags across the city, along with exciting events for residents of all ages, including the “Oosterschelde” tall ship from The Netherlands.
There’s a lot to look forward to, and I encourage you to get outside, enjoy all our city has to offer, and take in the energy of the season.
Be safe!
MIKE SPANO
