Who We Are
Writeshare was founded in January 2020 by Ashley Warlick and Lindsey DeLoach Jones to provide a community for Greenville writers. We believe the writing profession is due for a revolution, and we value community over credentials, practice over prescription, and agency over the marketplace.
Whether you think in legal pads or podcasts, query letters or pitchfests, line notes or long walks, we believe in your right as a writer to use it all. Writeshare welcomes adult writers in all genres and of all experience levels.

I’m a non-fiction writer by trade, but I’ve always wanted to write a novel. A year ago, I discovered the announcement about the WriteShare intensive on Instagram, applied, and I quickly wrote the first twenty pages of my book, so I’d have something ready for critique. Now, after my third intensive, the first draft of my book is complete—and those first twenty, terrible pages are long gone, thanks to the fantastic feedback and support offered by my writing colleagues. WriteShare provides exactly what this writer needs: community, accountability, and continual learning to better my craft. Thank you, Lindsey and Ashley, for your vision in founding WriteShare.

As a relative newcomer to Greenville, Writeshare is a welcome resource for me as a poet. I consider a strong writing community essential and Writeshare fulfills that need. The workshops I have attended were useful and engaging. I have taken classes with Mamie Morgan and Emily Cinquemani. Both are excellent teachers, always well-prepared and expert in their craft.

I joined Writeshare to have more accountability and due dates and to find a sense of community. It’s been amazing! I am so grateful for this program and everyone I have met.
