U.S. Climate Action Network
is the largest national civil society coalition of 175+ climate and environmental organizations.
Our theory of change:
Leadership through collective action.
The environmental movement is up against a well-funded and coordinated opposition. We need to stand united too.
By fostering collaboration, coordination, and information sharing,
USCAN builds a powerful force that surpasses the sum of its individual parts.
What We Do

Championing a just transition
Our Vision for Equitable Climate Action presents a transition roadmap from the current exploitative, fossil-fueled economy to a regenerative, renewable-powered society.
We also participate actively in global UN climate talks. USCAN — alongside our global climate justice allies — was key in securing the historic “loss and damage” agreement at COP27.

Catalyzing collective action
Our Catalyzing Grants program directs funding to frontline and historically underfunded groups through collaborative initiatives. Our members team up to create community projects and build long-term grassroots power.
Since 2017, USCAN has successfully allocated over $3 million in Catalyzing Grants to our members.

Leading strategically
We provide crucial movement and communications infrastructure: from convening physical gatherings and virtual strategy sessions, to sharing policy updates and intel.
Ahead of the 2028 elections, our members are co-creating a domestic climate policy platform rooted in communities' lived experiences.
