To understand the code used by large populations of neurons, we use a combination of experiment and computational analysis. We work mostly in the mouse brain, with techniques such as neuromics, high-count electrodes (Neuropixels), optogenetics, advanced multiphoton imaging, behavioural conditioning, and virtual reality simulation.
Our work is funded by the Wellcome Trust, the Simons Foundation, the European Research Council and the UK's Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
