In JDBC there are two scrollable ResultSets namely, scrollable sensitive and, scrollable insensitive.In the TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE ResultSet the cursor moves in forward or backward directions. This type of ResultSet is insensitive to the changes that are made in the database i.e. the modifications done in the database are not reflected in the ResultSet.Which means if we have established a connection with a database using JDBC program and retrieved a ResultSet holding all the records in a table named SampleTable. Meanwhile if we have added some more records to the table (after retrieving getting the ResultSet), these recent changes will not be reflected ...

To insert the contents of a database to a collection, Connect to the database and retrieve the contents of the table into a ResultSet object using the SELECT Query.DriverManager.registerDriver(new com.mysql.jdbc.Driver()); String mysqlUrl = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/mydatabase"; Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(mysqlUrl, "root", "password"); Statement stmt = con.createStatement(); ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select * from MyPlayers");Create a Java class to hold the contents of each record, with a variable and, setter and getter methods for each column (with suitable datatype).For example, if the table sample in the database has two fields with the details −Column name: ID, datatype: INT(11)Column name: Name, datatype VARCHAR(255)Then, the variable ...

Contigous selection means sharing borders like selecting siblings of a node in a JTree. To allow contiguous selection of nodes, set the selection mode to CONTIGUOUS_TREE_SELECTION −tree.getSelectionModel().setSelectionMode(TreeSelectionModel.CONTIGUOUS_TREE_SELECTION);The following is an example to allow contigous selection of nodes in a JTree −Examplepackage my; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JTree; import javax.swing.tree.DefaultMutableTreeNode; import javax.swing.tree.TreeSelectionModel; public class SwingDemo {    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {       JFrame frame = new JFrame("Demo");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Products");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node1 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Clothing");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node2 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Electronics");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node3 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Home Decor");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node4 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Furniture");       node.add(node1);       node.add(node2);       node.add(node3);       node.add(node4);       DefaultMutableTreeNode one = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Shirt");       DefaultMutableTreeNode two = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Trousers");       ...

To position components at the top fo the grid cell, set the GridBagConstraints. Let’s say we have a panel and within that two CheckBox components −JPanel panel1 = new JPanel(new GridBagLayout()); JCheckBox checkBox1 = new JCheckBox("Undergraduate"); JCheckBox checkBox2 = new JCheckBox("Graduate");Position the components now −panel1.add(checkBox1, new GridBagConstraints(0, 0, 1, 1, 1.0, 1.0,    GridBagConstraints.NORTH, GridBagConstraints.NORTH, new Insets(0, 0, 0, 0), 0, 0)); panel1.add(checkBox2, new GridBagConstraints(1, 0, 1, 1, 2.0, 0.0,    GridBagConstraints.NORTH, GridBagConstraints.NORTH, new Insets(0, 0, 0, 0), 0, 0));The following is an example to position component at the top of the grid cell with GridBagLayout −Examplepackage my; import java.awt.GridBagConstraints; import java.awt.GridBagLayout; import java.awt.Insets; ...

To create a date spinner, use the SpinnerDateModel class. Within that set the date format −Date today = new Date(); JSpinner spinner2 = new JSpinner(new SpinnerDateModel(today, null, null, Calendar.MONTH)); JSpinner.DateEditor editor = new JSpinner.DateEditor(spinner2, "dd/MM/yy"); spinner2.setEditor(editor);Above, we have set the Date format to be −dd/MM/yyThe following is an example to create a date spinner in Java −Examplepackage my; import java.awt.GridBagLayout; import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.Date; import javax.swing.*; public class SwingDemo {    public static void main(String[] args) {       JFrame frame = new JFrame("Spinner Demo");       JPanel panel = new JPanel();       JLabel label = new JLabel("Exam No.");       JLabel label2 = new JLabel(" Appeared On");       panel.setLayout(new GridBagLayout());       int min = 0;       int max = 10;       int step = 1; ...

To get the count of siblings of this node, use the getSiblingCount() method. Let’s say you have a node with 4 child nodes. Find the sibling of any of this node’s child node. Here, “eight” is the child node −eight.getSiblingCount());Note − Remember, a node is it’s own sibling.The following is an example to get the number of siblings of this node in a JTree −Examplepackage my; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JTree; import javax.swing.tree.DefaultMutableTreeNode; public class SwingDemo {    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {       JFrame frame = new JFrame("Demo");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Products");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node1 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Clothing (Product1 - P66778)");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node2 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Accessories (Product2 - P66779)");       DefaultMutableTreeNode node3 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("Home Decor (Product3 - ...
