Why you should listen

Jonathan Haidt studies how social media has contributed to the decline of teen mental health and the rise of political dysfunction. His most recent book, The Anxious Generation, describes the “great rewiring of childhood,” in which phone-based activities crowd out play. He teaches at New York University’s Stern School of Business, and is the author of The Happiness Hypothesis, The Righteous Mind and The Coddling of the American Mind (coauthored with Greg Lukianoff).
