Building the Power of Survivors to Effect Change
SPACE Intl. is a network of survivors from around the world, speaking out, changing how we think about prostitution.
Space Intl.
Our mission is to elevate the voices and power of survivors to ultimately end systems of prostitution.
We are calling for the political recognition of prostitution as a violation of human dignity and a fundamental obstacle to gender equality.
SPACE Intl. is an international organization that consists of a network of survivor “changemakers” from around the world. We seek to amplify the voices of survivors, elevate our stories to counter harmful narratives and ensure that those most impacted, especially those who have been overrepresented in the sex trade, lead and advance needed policies, programming and Equality Model legislative efforts everywhere. We are growing a global movement, working together, with our allies, with a shared vision of a more equitable world.
All over the world and throughout history, it has always been the most marginalized and vulnerable who are overrepresented in the sex trade
Prostitution exists because of the demand for it; it is the driving force of both prostitution and sex trafficking.
Countries that have legalized or decriminalized prostitution experience a surge in sex trafficking and other related crimes.
What We Do
Advocating for the Equality Model
The Equality Model is a 4-prong legal framework that recognizes prostitution as a form of violence, in particular, male violence against women. It ends the criminalization of anyone engaged in prostitution, offers comprehensive and trauma-informed programming, holds sex buyers accountable for the crimes they perpetrate and educates the public about the harms of prostitution to individuals and to society.
