“Before joining Solace, I lacked the confidence to stand up for myself and my beliefs, especially when it came to wearing the hijab in front of my family. We often feel embarrassed to ask for help and support, but Alhamdulillah, thanks to Solace, and the incredible support from my support worker, I now have the confidence to wear the hijab in front of my family. With Allah (SWT) guiding me and Solace by my side, I’m now on track with life, and it’s only onwards and upwards from here.”

“Solace has been a source of crucial support during a difficult time in my life when I was feeling very vulnerable in my marriage and struggling with very low self-esteem. The 1:1 support sessions have equipped me with practical tools to cope with life’s extreme lows and helped me adopt a more God-centred perspective on challenges. Solace has also provided support in navigating issues within my marriage, offering a safe space where I could express my frustrations and negativity. This has allowed me to work through these difficulties and handle them more effectively on my own in the future. I am truly grateful for all the wonderful support I’ve received from Solace.”

Fatima

“I don’t think I thanked you enough for all your support. It truly meant so much to me. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my struggles. At the time, it felt overwhelming, but sharing it with you made it more bearable. I’m also grateful for how you always reminded me of Allah and helped me connect all my issues back to Him. It made sense, though I couldn’t see it that way while caught up in my pain. Honestly, sister, thank you for being there for me. May Allah (SWT) reward you abundantly."

Mariam

"I reached out to Solace during the first week of Ramadan. It was my first Ramadan this year, and I was having a difficult time. I take medication to prevent migraines and treat my mental health, but unfortunately, this medication makes me prone to dehydration, which meant I couldn’t fast. I live in an area with very few Muslims, which made me feel isolated. I began to question my faith and needed someone to talk to. I was also facing relationship issues with my husband, and it was a challenging time overall. My support worker was kind, empathetic, and helped guide me back to my faith. I feel much closer to my deen now and see myself improving each day. W Jazak Allah khair to my sisters at Solace, thank you for all your support!”

Tasha

"At first, I was hesitant to seek help, but I’m so glad I did. Through working with my Support Worker, I was able to deepen my understanding of Islam and realised that many of the solutions to my struggles lie within my faith. While I’m still uncertain about my marriage, my Support Worker helped me see that I can use this time apart from my husband to focus on myself and my journey in Islam. Thanks to these support sessions, my fear of wearing the hijab has decreased. These transformative support sessions are essential for confused reverts like me. I’m also incredibly grateful to Solace for sponsoring the trip to KidZania, allowing me to treat my children to a day of fun and bonding. May Allah (SWT) always bless Solace, so it remains a place we can turn to when needed."
