Social sustainability

At Softcat, we recognise that sustainability touches every aspect of our lives, daily. This means it's crucial that every business makes it their responsibility to protect the future of our communities for generations to come.

Softcat's approach to social sustainability

Softcat creates an inclusive and respectful environment that encourages colleagues, communities, customers, and partners alike to work together to make a positive difference.

We do this through adhering to our values and ensuring our actions align with the social topics most material to us, topics which also align with the SDGs.

Our materiality assessment, a survey of our internal and external stakeholders, identified diversity and inclusion and developing talent as critical topics requiring active management.

Other social aspects such as ethical behaviour, health and wellbeing, and recruitment and retention were also identified as ‘important’ or ‘very important’. Each forms a core part of our approach to social responsibility at Softcat.

Our social sustainability values form the basis of our success, underpinning everything we do:

We strive to create a tech sector that better reflects the people we serve.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion because it’s the right thing to do. It aligns with our values and ethical principles. But it also makes good business sense, ensuring that we harness the capabilities and experiences of the broadest possible pool of talent, so that as the industry evolves, it evolves in a way that recognises, includes and serves everyone.

Giving back to our global community

"We at Love2Give are incredibly proud of all the fundraising efforts Softcat employees have undertaken over the past year. From cake sales and marathons to tuck shops, sky dives, Balls, and alpine hikes, Softcat has consistently gone above and beyond to support our Global Community. Thanks to their dedication, we have been able to make a tangible difference through these collective efforts. We would not be able to achieve any of this without the passion and drive of the Softcat Employees and our Partners, and we cannot wait to see what we can accomplish in the years ahead."

Cancer is terrifying for everyone. It’s harder still when the patient is a child. Young Lives vs Cancer supports children and their families, so they don’t face cancer alone.
