Resources to Discuss US Action in Iran
Recent action taken by the U.S. and Israel in Iran is likely to prompt questions from students about our country’s role in foreign affairs. Educators can be ready to respond and facilitate productive conversations using these teaching tools, links, and social and emotional resources prepared by SDCOE. Classroom dialogue helps students think critically, understand diverse perspectives, and engage as informed citizens.

Are you interested in mentoring youth, participating in service learning projects, and providing support for students in grades 3 through 12? The PASS (Promoting Achievement and Student Success) AmeriCorps Program is recruiting members for the 2026-27 school year. Through their service with PASS, our AmeriCorps members can create positive change in our schools and communities.
Facilitating Dialogue with Compassion
Classrooms should be safe spaces for having guided and civil discussions about topics that are politically charged or difficult to discuss. SDCOE offers educators social and emotional resources, as well as tips for creating a safe environment for students and facilitating dialogue with compassion.
