Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life's ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.

Sing may be full to the brim with cliches, but it’s a solid use of them. Illumination generally doesn’t shy away from using well-worn tropes and cliches, and Sing is no exception. However, this movie does have this certain charm to it, and I think all of the characters are very likable here. It’s also beautifully animated, and has a stellar cast. I don’t know, I enjoy this movie. I understand if you don’t if only for the cliches, but I think it uses them with enough charm to satisfy.
