Welcome to our new website! (Formerly Right to Care IL)

Fighting for the
well-being of Illinois’ youngest children.

We, the Village Coalition’s Response to Governor Pritzker’s Proposed FY27 Budget – February 19, 2026.

To make Illinois a state where ALL families and early childhood providers and educators have the resources they need to help children succeed.

  • We want adequate, equitable, sustainable, reliable funding for children’s services from birth through age 5.
  • We want to ensure that the early childhood workforce is adequately compensated, and that providers and educators have the resources and support they need to provide high-quality care.
  • We want to ensure that our advocacy efforts are geared towards building and sustaining a diverse workforce pipeline that provides adequate pay and benefits.
  • We want to ensure all children can access quality education and care, as their parents choose.
  • We want resources to be invested in the children and communities that need it most in order to eliminate racial, socio-economic, and other disparities.
