We also have an Attendance Award for a student with an outstanding attendance record.<\/p>\n<p>The winners are presented with their awards from Principal Marcus Clinton at a ceremony in Reaseheath Hall.<\/p>\n<p>The summer term awards went to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANIMAL MANAGEMENT<\/strong><br \/>\nJade Lawlor (Advanced Extended Technical Diploma in Animal Management)<\/p>\n<p>Jade is a dedicated student who works above and beyond in all areas, is a pleasure to teach and a great friend to her peers.<\/p>\n<p>Living independently on campus at the age of 16, Jade has thrived and taken a big step towards entering the animal management industry. Employers at her most recent work placement with Brookdale Cattery have high praise for her amazing attitude and work ethic and she has been offered a job there.<\/p>\n<p>Jade has also joined fellow students on a beach clean, engaging with our native rock pool species (particularly crabs) and painstakingly picking polystyrene out from under rocks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AGRICULTURE<\/strong><br \/>\nAndrew Thompson (Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Agriculture)<\/p>\n<p>Andrew was selected for his willingness to help others and dedication in supporting his department. He assists with farm tasks outside his curriculum time and is a member of the \u2018Tractor Club\u2019, taking a key role in restoring a Massey Ferguson 135. He also helped to ensure the smooth running of events during our Family Festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONSTRUCTION<\/strong><br \/>\nOliver Franklin (Level 2 Diploma in Plastering)<\/p>\n<p>Olly\u2019s initial interview was so impressive that he gained a place on our Level 2 course despite no previous training. He has become a very competent plasterer after just nine months of training, so much so that he represented Reaseheath at the regional heats of Skillbuild. He has impressed with his 100% attendance, dedication and polite manner.<\/p>\n<p>Olly has been offered a place on our Level 3 Diploma in Plastering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COUNTRYSIDE<\/strong><br \/>\nChloe Carson (Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Land and Wildlife Management)<\/p>\n<p>A dedicated, passionate and hard-working student, Chloe has the characteristics and skills to enable her to progress and succeed. She shows determination, resourcefulness and huge enthusiasm for her studies and wider college life and stands out as a natural group leader and role model .<\/p>\n<p>She has proactively secured a work placement with the Tatton Park ranger team, receiving praise about her positive work ethic. She also assists and guides other learners, in particular taking an active role by leading groups of special educational needs students in our newly formed Forest College.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FLORISTRY \/ HORTICULTURE<\/strong><br \/>\nPenny Harvey (Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Floristry)<\/p>\n<p>After successful careers as a BA flight attendant and in the retail interior industry, Penny is now persuing her long held dream of becoming a floral designer.<\/p>\n<p>She produces stunning designs, supports other students and recently led a team of students to produce a display for Family Festival which won the public vote.<\/p>\n<p>Her passion and commitment throughout her work placement at Floral Couture impressed employer Myke Caulton, a renowned local celebrity. She plans to run her own business focussing on sustainable and biodegradable floristry, ideally in France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOUNDATION<\/strong><br \/>\nEmma Need (Level 1 Career Development Pathway Programme)<\/p>\n<p>This study programme has been designed to support young people, many of whom have additional learning needs, in preparing academically and socially for employment. Emma joined this programme after one year on our Level 1 Animal Care programme.<\/p>\n<p>She has developed effective teamwork and communication skills plus self confidence and has embraced work placements with Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Nantwich Food Bank and Sainsbury\u2019s, leaving such an impression at the supermarket that she has been advised to apply for a role when she finishes college.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOOD INDUSTRY<\/strong><br \/>\nCarmel Milne (FDQ Level 3 Diploma in Food and Technology Management)<\/p>\n<p>Carmel has shown a phenomenal aptitude for cheese making, a natural talent which will continue to develop. As well as attending her own classes she has joined sessions with our bakery students and in our dairy processing halls, where she has used industry standard equipment alongside dairy professionals. She is currently working on a cheesemaking display board for display at The Lion Works in Northwich.<\/p>\n<p>Keen to further her knowledge and become industry ready, she found a challenging work placement on an ice cream farm where she highly impressed her employers. She also makes, bakes, packages and labels food which she takes into local care homes and nurseries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HORSE MANAGEMENT<\/strong><br \/>\nKiera Burt (Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management)<\/p>\n<p>Academically Kiera has a natural curiosity and passion for learning, asking interesting questions and relating these as to how we can further develop horse welfare. Although initially she found her practical lunging and long reining module challenging she attended additional training in her spare time which paid off with a Pass with Distinction.<\/p>\n<p>She has continued to develop her practical skills, taking on a supervisory yard duty role and achieving \u2018above industry skills\u2019 in her practical competency. Following work experience at Contessa Riding Centre, a leading dressage training centre, her proprietors spoke highly of her practical skillset, organisation, teamwork, initiative and empathy. She has also been a member of our arena parties at The Horse of the Year Show and Bolesworth International Horse Show.<\/p>\n<p>Kiera is continuing her studies at degree level at Oxford Brookes University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOTOR VEHICLE \/ ENGINEERING<\/strong><br \/>\nWilliam Minton (Level 1IMI Diploma in Transport Maintenance)<\/p>\n<p>Despite initially being shy and nervous, Will has become a strong and composed young adult who has achieved above his own expectations. Due to his own determination he has overcome challenges with his written work and celebrated every successful submission. An inspirational student, he is never late for a session, is on track to achieve a C grade in Maths and English and has been invited to progress onto our Level 2 IMI Diploma in Light Vehicle and Repair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPORT \/ ADVENTURE SPORT \/ PUBLIC SERVICES<\/strong><br \/>\nEsme Clarke (Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport Performance)<\/p>\n<p>An outstandingly hard working student, Esme has added extra credit lessons to her timetable and achieved so much academically that she is on target to move up onto our extended diploma (worth three A Levels).<\/p>\n<p>A successful 100m athlete, she represents Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club and was also selected through college to attend the AOC North West Hockey Trials. She hopes to have a career in sport therapy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE AWARD<\/strong><br \/>\nLewis Wilde (Level 3 Employability Skills)<\/p>\n<p>Lewis has been a conscientious, dedicated and punctual student who has shown excellent attendance throughout his three years of study with us. His commitment to both Reaseheath and his course has extended to attending on non-timetabled days to support recruitment and fundraising events and enterprise days and he has become an excellent college ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>He has made significant progress in all areas of learning and particularly in the development of \u2018work ready skills\u2019, working as a supervisor in Foundation Studies\u2019 small animal barn and on work placements with Cheshire and Shropshire Wildlife Trusts, local food banks, Cheshire Changing Lives charity and with a boarding kennels and a dog grooming parlour.<\/p>\n<p>His next step is into a supported employed position at the dog grooming parlour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH AND WELLBEING<\/strong><br \/>\nSiobhan Hayes (Level 3 Diploma Animal Management)<\/p>\n<p>Siobhan has worked hard at her self-development, blossoming as an individual and showing dramatic increase in confidence, self-esteem and maturity.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the support from our Wellbeing team she has improved her communication skills and is now a residential student with a weekly part-time job. She excelled at our Family Festival, engaging with families visiting the Wellbeing stall and helping with arts and crafts.<\/p>\n<p>Academically she is extremely bright and is set to begin a degree in the next academic year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATHS AND ENGLISH<\/strong><br \/>\nLeah Evans (Level 2 Diploma in Animal Management \u2013 nominated by Maths and English Department)<\/p>\n<p>Leah is a perfect role model who has all the qualities of a star student. Her attendance and punctuality are excellent and she seizes every opportunity to develop her English skills. Her teacher has never seen a student put as much effort into her work as Leah does.<\/p>\n<p>Previously home schooled, her talent for English has shone through and she has quickly moved onto a GCSE course as well as dealing with her life changes in becoming a full time student.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HE FACULTY<\/strong><br \/>\nEllie Evans (BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare)<\/p>\n<p>Ellie\u2019s resolutely positive attitude and work ethic have resulted in her achieving a first in all her modules to date. She is also a children\u2019s entertainer at Chester Zoo, supportings the zoo\u2019s efforts to enthuse and educate the next generation about global conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Her commitment has resulted in her securing an invaluable internship at Chester Zoo, one of the most sought after work placements in the UK. This will allow her to work hands-on with her favourite species alongside some of the most experienced and respected zoo keepers in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
