Fellowship honour for Reaseheath College Principal<\/p><\/div>\n

Reaseheath College<\/a> Principal Meredydd David OBE has been made a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAgS) for the college\u2019s outstanding contribution to agricultural progress within the UK.<\/p>\n

The honour, bestowed at the House of Lords by Miss Rosie Carne, current chairman of the RAgS Council, is in recognition of the services Reaseheath provides for its farming community and its leading role in the development of agricultural education.<\/p>\n

Established in 1834, RAgS promotes the scientific development of agriculture and in particular the transfer of scientific knowledge to agricultural practitioners.<\/p>\n

Meredydd, who was nominated by existing Fellows, said: \u201cI was very surprised and honoured to have been selected for this Fellowship. This is very much Reaseheath\u2019s achievement and is entirely due to the fantastic work the college does for the agricultural industry nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reaseheath College has been a leader in the field of agriculture<\/a> since the 1920s and is recognised especially for its expertise in dairy production.\u00a0 The agriculture department currently has 370 students studying degrees<\/a> and diplomas<\/a>. The college farm has had significant investment into its infrastructure and machinery, ensuring that all students receive a cutting edge experience using the latest technology.<\/p>\n

Reaseheath\u2019s Agricultural Development Academy<\/a> offers an information hub for farmers and growers and aims to improve the profitability and efficiency of farming and food production businesses by delivering high quality knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n
