{"id":56442,"date":"2016-07-22T10:43:34","date_gmt":"2016-07-22T09:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/?p=56442"},"modified":"2016-07-26T12:28:16","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T11:28:16","slug":"bali-prize-encourages-young-professional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/bali-prize-encourages-young-professional\/","title":{"rendered":"BALI prize encourages young professional"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reaseheath <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/further-education\/courses\/horticulture\/level-3-diplomas-horticulture\/\">Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture<\/a> Student of the Year Finin Talbot made useful industry connections during a visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhs.org.uk\/shows-events\/rhs-flower-show-tatton-park\">RHS Flower Show Tatton Park<\/a> as guest of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bali.org.uk\/\">British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>BALI sponsors Reaseheath\u2019s \u2018Student of the Year\u2018 award annually as part of its campaign to encourage and support young talent within the industry and the trip to RHS Tatton was part of the prize. BALI had a major presence at the horticultural event through its support of a new class, the Best RHS Young Landscape Contractor. Former Reaseheath horticulture student Matt Beesley won a coveted gold medal in this class.<\/p>\n<p>Fin, who has just completed his qualification and is considering his next step, spent part of the day touring the inspirational show gardens and trade stands with BALI representatives. \u00a0He said: \u201cThis was a brilliant opportunity to network with exhibitors and supporters of the industry. The team at BALI made a real effort to make the visit enjoyable and informative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BALI Chief Executive Wayne Grills said: \u201cWe were delighted that Fin, who is one of Reaseheath\u2019s brightest and most skilful students, could join us at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. All three finalists in the Best RHS Young Landscape Contractor class and their planting design partners won a gold medal. This was a momentous achievement and I am delighted that Fin was able to witness their success first-hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBALI will continue to support and nurture young talent across the industry and recognises the importance of working closely with land-based colleges like Reaseheath.
