The need for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services in the U.S. is greater than ever, based on the growing prevalence of chronic disease, an aging population, and increasing reliance on medication therapies. Medication-related adverse events, waste, and misuse continue to exact a financial and personal toll on patients, payers, and the health care system as a whole. 

Pharmacists are among the most qualified health care professionals to provide MTM services.

To meet the needs of pharmacy professionals who want to begin an MTM practice or expand their knowledge and skills in MTM, this program provides the fundamentals (Medicare Part D MTM latest requirements, patient selection, documentation, reimbursement) as well as training to enhance skills in managing patient and provider communication, polypharmacy, adherence, and medication safety.

Available for $99, this MTM Certificate Program offers 20 designated Credit hours specifically designed for the educational needs of pharmacists. Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services are being endorsed by major health care organizations across the country. Pharmacists play a critical role in supporting MTM services and represent an important step in the expanding role of the pharmacist.

In the 10 learning modules, an expert panel of faculty consultants focus on the current and future informational needs of pharmacists to help them prepare for and support MTM services in any health care setting. Expert panelists also participated in a video focus group, providing insights into their jobs as MTM providers, and the changing roles of MTM in the current health care system. MTM services help improve adherence and increase safe health care practices, while reducing medication errors, waste, overall health care costs.

This program provides a Certificate of Training verifying that you have completed the course material. (This program does not meet the definition for an ACPE Certificate Program and does not have a CPN associated with it.)
