Buffering: A Rewatch Adventure began in 2016 with Buffering the Vampire Slayer, an episodic rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hosted byJenny Owen Youngs (professional musician & recreational Whedonverse aficionado) and Kristin Russo (professional writer & former goth teen) — and now continues through some of the most iconic genre shows rooted in the 90s and 00s. We recently rewatched Season 1 of Yellowjackets at the tail end of 2022 with Doomcoming: A Yellowjackets Podcast (and yes, we will be rewatching Season 2 in anticipation of the third season!), and are now journeying through The eX-Files, our episodic rewatch of (you guessed it) The X-Files. Why Patreon? Podcasting about our favorite TV shows is a dream come true, but it’s the kind of dream that takes up oodles and oodles of time. We spend countless hours each week recording and producing episodes with our Buffering team — a wonderful bunch humans who help us edit, research, schedule, and who also work to keep our work and our online spaces as safe (and fun) as possible. There are also a number of expenses related to running the show: website hosting, podcast distribution, recording equipment and software, and any number of other incidentals.
