Paul Middlebrooks

I host the Brain Inspired podcast. I spent over 10 years as a neuroscientist studying visual decision-making in nonhuman primates. A few years as a technician, 4 years obtaining a PhD, and 6 years as a postdoctoral researcher. Then I quit academia, my wife and I sold our suburban house, our little Hyundai Elantra, and the vast majority of our “stuff”. We moved into a 35 foot 5th wheel. We towed it behind a diesel-guzzling monster of a truck. We went places. Then the sucker broke down, so we decided to settle in Durango, CO for a bit - a place we love. 5 years later, I'm back in research in Pittsburgh, PA at Carnegie Mellon University. So… Hello!
