Most people reading this are probably familiar with the Something Awful forums. If you are not, well, you see, Something Awful is like Middle Earth. I'm Gandalf the White. I'll start by being honest with you: When it comes to hosting costs alone, the forums aren't in danger of losing their hosting or running out of money any time soon. Donations to this patreon should be made because you want to, not because you think you need to. Developer hours are expensive and the people that put their time and 
effort into maintaining and upgrading the site deserve to be paid for 
their work. The extra income this patreon can provide would be used for features and
 changes that will benefit everyone moving forward. There is a lot of 
modernization that needs to be done - many aspects of the site's 
technology have been neglected for over a decade. Moreover, I would like to hire brilliant artists and writers
 within the community to produce content that can demonstrate to the 
world what our community is capable of. In short, please give the site money. I will use the money to do cool things for the website. You can see some of them already and there are many more on the way, and the extent of that. NOTE: I am not promising any sorts of rewards for any of these tiers, at least excepting the last one. Like I said, give money to SA because you want to - the money will go to making the site better. HOWEVER, I might just give out some sort of reward anyway. As such, it would be beneficial for you to use the same email address on your patreon as you do for your forums account. This would be a good thing to check when signing up!
