Splice provided Relocation Planning and Move Management services for Intuitive Surgical’s new R&D + Manufacturing facility in Blacksburg, VA. This involved moving office, lab, and manufacturing spaces from multiple buildings at their current 30,000 SF location into one new 50,000 SF space. Project scope included:
A unique challenge of this project was moving several pieces of extremely large, very sensitive equipment each costing approximately $1M. Working with the general contractor and a heavy lift contractor, we removed a third-floor window and craned each piece of equipment out in custom-made crates.
