About Lee

Dr. Lee Ashendorf earned his Ph.D. in 2005 from the State University of New York in Albany, completing his internship training in neuropsychology with a minor in health psychology at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System’s West Haven campus. He completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at what is now called the VA Bedford Healthcare System, a position he sought specifically to work with consultant neuropsychologist Edith Kaplan and learn more about her Boston Process Approach, which had piqued his interest during his graduate training. It worked out quite well for him. He holds a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School. He works as an adult clinical neuropsychologist but his primary job is as a postdoctoral training director. He was the lead editor of the book, The Boston Process Approach to Neuropsychological Assessment, and has presented locally and nationally on this topic. He was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology in 2014 and was the 2015 recipient of the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society’s Edith Kaplan Award. He has been board certified by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology since 2017. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications and has served as an Associate Editor of several leading journals in the field. His primary research interests unsurprisingly include psychometric and clinical applications of the Boston Process Approach.
