Udaipur car crash: Four friends on way to celebrate birthday killed in high-speed accident

Four young friends lost their lives and six others were injured after two cars collided near Nela Talab in Savina area of Udaipur district on the old Ahmedabad bypass early on Saturday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Ayan (17), Adil Qureshi (14), Sher Mohammad (19), and Ghulam Khwaja (17).
All of them were residents of Udaipur. Two other youths travelling in the same car, Wasim (20) and Mohammed Kaif (19), were seriously injured and admitted to MB Hospital, where their condition remains critical.

Police said the six friends were travelling in one car after attending a ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ programme. They were heading towards the highway to have tea and celebrate a friend’s birthday when the accident occurred.

A video recorded just moments before the crash has surfaced, showing Sher Mohammad driving the car at a very high speed. The speed was allegedly between 100 and 120 kmph and later increased to around 140 kmph.

In the video, one of the friends can be heard asking the driver to slow down, but the warning was ignored. Just over a minute after the video started, the car met with the fatal crash.

After the collision, the injured youths cried for help for nearly 10 minutes. By the time local residents reached the spot, four of them had died, while two were badly injured.

The second car involved in the accident had a Gujarat registration number and was travelling from Rajgarh in Churu district to Vapi in Gujarat. Four people in this vehicle were also injured. They have been identified as Mahipal Jat (48), Rajbala (45), Rajesh (26), and Karmveer Singh (24). All are currently undergoing treatment.

Police have seized both vehicles and sent the bodies to the mortuary at MB Hospital for post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
