Kopin
US-based Kopin Corporation is a developer of microdisplays and other components for wearable devices. The company produces and develops LCoS, OLED and microLED microdisplays.
In early 2021, Kopin announced an agreement with Jade Bird Display to develop 2k x 2k 1" monochrome microLED microdisplays. Later in 2021 Kopin announced an agreement with a leading Japanese consumer electronics maker to develop 2K x 2K full-color microLED microdisplays.
In 2025, announced several project awards to develop microLED technologies, including a $15.4 million project from the US Department of Defense. In 2025, the company also raised $41 million in a private investment, with plans to use some of the funds towards its color microLED microdisplays. In September 2025, Theon announced that it is investing $15 million in Kopin, and the two companies have launched a Joint Venture that will engage in the development and production of microLED displays.
