Animated Route Maps : Version 3

Animated Route Maps let you easily create and modify a travel route on Google Maps and then view the scenery along the route using animated Street View.

There is a range of options to customize your maps's appearance and functionality.

View the maps in either 2D or 3D mode.

Switch locations by clicking on any point along the route.

Generate new routes directly within the map.

You can embed animated route maps in your web site or blog and easily share links to the maps on social media.

Compatible with desktop and mobile browsers.

Free for commercial and non-commercial use.

What's New

1. 3D WebGL Maps : Use the menu controls to switch between 2D and 3D views.

2. Use the built-in editor to create and edit routes.

3. Generate shareable links for new routes within the map.

4. New controls : Speed control and progress display.

5. Click business markers to see the business in street view.

6. Support for mobile devices : use portrait mode to display the header menu and use landscape mode to see the map or street view without the menu.

Technical Notes

1. WebGL should be enabled in your browser to display the 3d shapes of buildings when 3D mode is selected. Visit get.webgl.org to check if your browser supports WebGL.

2. Bird's eye imagery is not available for 3D Maps. If you wish to view bird's eye imagery select the 2D Map option (or add the parameter &map2d=1 to your map URL).

3. The language option is currently only applied to the Google map, street view and directions.
