Coronation Street fans 'figure out' David and Shona Platt horror after Jodie 'clue'
Shona's sister only arrived in Weatherfield this month
Coronation Street fans think they have 'figured out' the horror that lies after for David and Shona Platt following the arrival of the latter's half-sister, Jodie.
The new character only arrived on-screen this month, having made her first appearance during the long-running show's epic crossover with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale, which featured a horror multi-vehicle crash that saw the lives of those from Weatherfield and the Dales in danger.
She was initially seen tied up in the back of a van, thought to be the one driven by Graham Foster, however, this hasn't been confirmed, as traffic gathered around the crash site. She ended up making an escape and when DC Kit Green gave chase, she ran straight into a tree, causing her to be among the injured.
She was later seen looking surprised to see Shona and David in the hospital, after they were among those caught up in the drama, in Hotten, and when she moved back to Weatherfield General, Jodie followed before she made herself known to the couple and revealed herself to a confused David as Shona's sibling.
And she's planning on sticking around after a worried David invited her to stay at No.8. In scenes aired earlier this week, Shona questioned Jodie, having spotted bruises on her wrists. Jodie claimed she was involved in an abusive relationship, which made sense to David after finding her having a panic attack as she was bombarded with messages and calls to her phone.
Shona was keen to support her sister, revealing to David that when she left home, she vowed to return but never did. When she did get the courage to go back, it was too late and her family had already moved on, leaving Shona guilt-ridden for abandoning her sibling.
Later, Shona promised she'd be safe with them and Jodie was seen binning a SIM card. She also appeared delighted that Shona wanted her to visit her newborn daughter, Harper, again but fans were left concerned following Friday's (January 16) visit to the cobbles as they notice Jodie looking at a locket, featuring pictures of two young children, but she quickly hid it when she heard someone coming through the door.
And fans are worried what impact Jodie's antics could have on Shona and David. Posting on Reddit, One_Reference953 said: "So in tonight's episode, Jodie is seen looking at some babies in a locket, but hides it as soon as David comes in and breaks her neck to tell him she's made him a vegetarian lasagne for his tea. Do we think she's got some tragic backstory where she's lost these kids in some way and is going to seduce David, then steal Harper? What else could she have rocked up for?"
Saintlysin14u replied: "I am getting some single white female vibes, I won't lie." Patient-Secret3565 commented: "I think Jodie will kidnap Harper." PlumbobfulofSulSul suggested: "I reckon she’ll steal the baby once she’s well enough to be at home.." @Louise101050 also added on X (formerly Twitter): "Something is definitely off with Jodie, she was acting strange when Shona was talking about Harper and her tumour, they aren't going to go down the baby snatch route are they? #Corrie."
