  • 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: UV-C water disinfection in horticulture Stricter environmental regulations are pushing growers to rethink how they manage and reuse water. In this case, a large strawberry grower treated multiple drain water streams using UV-C technology, ensuring safe reuse while protecting crop health. 💡 32 UV reactors (400W UV-C low-pressure lamps) 💧 Total capacity: up to 25 m³/h ✅ Effective reduction of bacteria, fungi, and moulds This solution is powered by Nedap’s energy-efficient low-pressure UV drivers (UniMulti), ensuring stable lamp performance and optimized energy use. 👉 Read the full case study: https://lnkd.in/eMSc4_J6 #UVTechnology #WepowerUV #UVAlliance

    • Meet us again at IFAT 2026, Munich.
  • Making the invisible visible. Do you also believe that UV technology will remain highly relevant for water treatment, both today and in the future? In practice, however, things do not always go as they should. UV systems are sometimes selected or applied without the right insights. Important parameters are overlooked, assumptions are made and the result can be underperformance and disappointment. Not because the technology does not work, but because it is not always applied correctly. That is a missed opportunity. UV is a reliable, sustainable and energy efficient technology. To help strengthen a clear and technically substantiated story around UV, we are building the UV Knowledge Hub together with partners and UV experts. The goal is simple: share practical knowledge, create a consistent narrative, and help the market make better informed decisions about the application of UV technology in water treatment. Curious about the key parameters that really make a difference? Check: https://lnkd.in/eRUSs39F Would you like to contribute to the UV Knowledge Hub? Feel free to comment below or send me a message. #WepowerUV #UVTechnology

42.5 years of dedication Yesterday, Tonnie Telgenhof Oude Koehorst celebrated his retirement together with the team, after an incredible 42.5 years at Nedap. Of course, there were warm words, countless anecdotes, and a true walk down memory lane. Stories that made us laugh, reflect, and realize once again how much history one person can carry within an organization. As colleagues, we will especially miss Tonnie’s sharp eye, his humor, and his deep expertise. Tonnie breathes Nedap and Nedap is deeply rooted in Tonnie. That kind of connection doesn’t disappear overnight. It will take some getting used to for all of us. At the same time, we look ahead with confidence to the future, to the innovations we are working on and to the next chapter of Nedap’s story. Also, a new chapter begins for Tonnie, with more time to enjoy his hobbies and spend with his family. And if we ever need some (unsolicited) advice… we know where to find you, Tonnie. And of course, you know where to find us. Goed goan, Tonnie!

  • Proud to be part of this initiative. As a member of the UV Alliance, we actively contribute to the development of the UV Knowledge Hub. In the coming months, we will be sharing reliable insights on how UV technology helps address today’s water treatment challenges. This article highlights the added value of UV in water treatment. From antimicrobial resistance and rising infection pressure to chemical contamination and chlorine resistance. These challenges require proven, non-chemical solutions. UV has been doing exactly that for decades, and its role is only becoming more important. By working together with other UV Alliance members, we aim to strengthen understanding, share expertise, and support informed decision-making across the industry. Curious to learn more? 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗨𝗩 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆? For more than 50 years, UV technology has proven its value as a reliable solution for water disinfection. Today, however, we face new and evolving challenges: 𝟭. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗔𝗠𝗥) is increasing the need for preventive, non-chemical barriers. 𝟮. 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 demands robust treatment at the source. 𝟯. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, including emerging micro-pollutants and industrial pollutants, is raising demand for chemical free methods. 𝟰. 𝗖𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺𝘀 and chloramine residues challenge conventional disinfection strategies. UV technology directly addresses these issues. It inactivates microorganisms without chemicals, does not contribute to resistance, and helps control pathogens and by-products effectively. Together with all members of the UV Alliance, we are building a UV Knowledge Hub, where we explain how UV technology can be applied effectively across water treatment applications. 👉 Want to learn more about why UV technology plays a critical role in protecting public health? Clean drinking water after 2030? The Netherlands is among the global leaders in drinking water quality. Yet the recent #Kassa broadcast highlighted a growing challenge: how do we keep our drinking water clean, safe, and available beyond 2030? The reality in the Netherlands is complex: ➤ Groundwater levels are dropping. ➤ Surface water is increasingly polluted by agriculture, pharmaceutical residues, and industrial discharge. ➤ Purification is becoming more difficult, costly, and energy-intensive. Doing nothing is not an option. People rely on clean tap water every single day. Andijk has been leading the way for 20 years. There, PWN built an integrated membrane and UV peroxide advanced oxidation plant—powered by Nedap technology. This facility produces 120 million litres of drinking water every day. But that’s not enough. New pollutants keep emerging. And substances once considered safe are now seen as harmful. So the technology must keep evolving. What’s needed? Collaboration. Between politics, industry, and water utilities. Only then can we keep the promise of safe drinking water for everyone, also beyond 2030. Thanks to Koen Zuurbier (PWN) and Roberta Hofman (KWR) for sharing this story with clarity and urgency. Source: https://lnkd.in/eVQqWTW6 [Dutch]
