Some TEDx fundamentals: As you build your community, start by fostering connection between your speakers. At TED2026, longtime organizer Hache Ariel Merpert from TEDxRíodelaPlata shares his top tip for TEDx organizers: create intentional spaces for speakers to connect before they take the stage. TED2026 was a dream! We celebrated our last year in Vancouver (🥲) with over 80 TEDxers, plus a historic session featuring speakers from TEDx-hosted Global Idea Search events. A huge shoutout again to the teams and speakers that participated in the Global Idea Search: TEDxAmman, TEDxAthens, TEDxChicago, TEDxGateway, TEDxLagos, TEDxLondon, TEDxRíodelaPlata, TEDxSingapore and TEDxSydney. Look out for the full talks, coming soon from TED. Next up: three more global community gatherings. Organizers, see you at TEDxWeekends and TEDAI Vienna! [📸: Jason Redmond and Ryan Lash/TED]

Build an attention-grabbing stage design by playing with familiar elements. In Surat, India, TEDxSurat’s latest stage featured an installation that put a twist on the classic red circle. The team executed the design using a combination of technical expertise and various materials (a larger-than-life magnifying glass, wood, and precise lighting), and embraced trial and error. The final look lit the speakers perfectly and added a theatrical flair to the stage. [📸: TEDxSurat]
