This time of year, I’m reminded of the mix of possibility and uncertainty I felt at my own graduation. A lot has changed since then, but what hasn’t is the opportunity education leaders have to shape how students step into what comes next. The most impactful experiences for graduates today connect learning to real work. They need hands-on projects, exposure to tools like AI, and strong relationships they can carry forward beyond campus. From Microsoft AI Skills Fest and our Student Ambassadors program to tools like the Study and Learn Agent in Microsoft Copilot, the resources covered in this blog are designed to help students and early graduates start their careers with confidence: https://lnkd.in/guzpBszZ What programs, tools, or experiences have made the greatest difference for students at your institution?

We have been proud to partner with Code.org for over 13 years to expand access to computer science and digital fluency for millions of learners. Today, that work enters a new chapter as Code.org expands its mission and focus and becomes CodeAI. As AI reshapes how we learn, work, and live, every student should have the chance to understand it, question it, and shape our fast-changing world. That’s what CodeAI is here to accelerate. Onward! The difference between AI projects that scale and those that stall is often a mindset shift.     You can’t focus on technology alone. The organizations I see pulling ahead lead with outcomes, using AI to reimagine how decisions are made, how teams operate, and how value is created.    That’s the idea behind Frontier Transformation, and the University of Kentucky is a powerful example of what it looks like in practice.     Higher education has always been a proving ground for new thinking, but the same blueprint applies across industries: align AI to real outcomes, embed it into everyday workflows, set clear guardrails, and empower the people closest to the work to innovate responsibly.

In schools, trust is everything and so is protecting sensitive data. Educational Foundation Freiburg’s EDU360° transformation is built to meet strict, German and EU privacy requirements while enabling modern collaboration and responsible, age-appropriate AI use. With EDU360°, the Foundation is modernizing operations across 31 schools on Microsoft technology—streamlining administrative tasks, strengthening collaboration, and bringing AI into schools in a responsible way. Teachers and staff use Microsoft 365 Copilot to summarize documents, draft communications, and reduce routine workload—helping school leaders feel confident that no message gets missed. Because the goal isn’t “more technology.” It’s more capacity for learning, feedback, and one-on-one support.  Explore how this approach is helping educators focus on what matters most: https://lnkd.in/e3V_BbEt

Leaders and administrators are excited about AI's potential in education - but to realize the benefits, we need to start with strong guardrails.   Copilot Chat 13+ admin controls are now live, which means school and district leaders can shape how students engage with AI with more confidence and clarity. It’s not just about turning something on. It’s about setting the right guardrails so educators can focus on learning, not guesswork.   Watch this helpful demo: https://lnkd.in/e3AqBWmM #MicrosoftEDU #Copilot #EdTech

We know from educators across the world that students are already using AI to study. But many of the tools they use are built to give answers quickly, not to support real learning. Without a trusted system-wide solution, institutions often respond by limiting or blocking access entirely, even as students continue to use AI on their own. The concerns are real, and we built the new Microsoft 365 Copilot Study and Learn Agent with them firmly in view. Available for all education customers at no additional cost, the new agent gives institutions a learning-focused approach to enabling AI for students age 13 and older. Access must be enabled by an IT administrator, which helps schools move at their own pace and ensure trust. Instead of jumping to answers, Study and Learn is grounded in learning science. It’s designed to guide students in the productive struggle to understand difficult concepts, practice while building confidence, and build knowledge and skills. The goal is simple. Keep the student thinking. What we hear consistently is the need for tools that support learning, not shortcut it, and that schools can enable with confidence. Study & Learn is part of a broader Microsoft commitment to meet the real-time challenge of how AI shows up in classrooms. Grateful to the educators and partners helping shape how we continue to move forward, together.
