Thomas Due reposted thisThomas Due reposted thisCurious about our ongoing Wave Power test at Utsira? First sea tests proved outstanding technical robustness, impressive deployment pace and solid commercial potential for Hydrakraft, establishing the company as a definitive leader in the sector. "Installation took less than half a day and deployment was completed in around four hours, confirms CTO and founder Ingvald Straume." For investors and project developers, this is a fundamental shift in how offshore renewable capacity can be built and scaled. Furthermore, the installation survived storm "Dave", with peak waves up to 8.5 metres, multiple days of 7–8 metres seas, extended 4–6 metres conditions and storm gusts up to 39 m/s during Read more here👇 https://lnkd.in/eFfpQZpQ #wavenergy #renewableenergy #utsiraHydrakraft: Low‑Cost Wave Power Survives Extreme SeasHydrakraft: Low‑Cost Wave Power Survives Extreme Seas

Thomas Due reposted thisThomas Due reposted thisWhat makes an event worth attending for you: who is there, how it is curated, what meetings happen, or what happens after? What makes ARCTIC15 useful is not scale alone. This year, we have reached a record number of registrations. That matters. But numbers alone are not the point. The real question is: what happens because people come? #ARCTIC15 is built around deal-making. Built around curation. Built around practical interaction. Founder-focused, but not founder-only. Because ecosystems are not built by isolated excellence. They are built when founders, investors, LPs, corporates, universities, public institutions, and operators meet with purpose. That is the gap a serious platform should try to close. Not more noise. More relevant interaction. That is the standard for ARCTIC15 - 15th Anniversary Edition 🌟 2026 so tell me what makes a platform worth attending for you: who is there, how it is curated, what meetings happen, or what happens after? #ARCTIC15, #ARCTIC152026, #StartupEcosystem, #NordicStartups, #VentureCapital, #DealMaking, #Innovation, #Startups, #Investors, #LPs, #Founders, #Helsinki, #Finland, #EcosystemBuilding #VantaaFutureTechCity

Thomas Due reposted thisThomas Due reposted thisOn Friday, March 20, the ocean wave energy converter Hydra-WEC One was deployed along the coast of the island of Utsira, an area specifically chosen due to its strong wave exposure and demanding sea conditions. The aim was to subject Hydrakraft’s wave power pilot plant to maximum stress in order to verify the technology’s endurance. This first full-scale sea test confirms that our patented wave power technology can withstand 8.5-meter-high waves and stormy weather with wind gusts up to hurricane force, while at the same time being able to deliver commercially viable energy production. The test is part of an ongoing pilot project where we are assessing whether wave power and flow batteries can deliver green energy to island communities. The project is being carried out together with Bryte Batteries, Sustainable Energy and Haugaland Kraft, and is partly funded by Enova. #wavepower #renewableenergy #utsira

Thomas Due liked thisThomas Due liked thisWhat an incredible way to celebrate 15 years of connecting the dots in the startup ecosystem at ARCTIC15 - 15th Anniversary Edition 🌟! This is a massive "thank you" (long) post for c. 100 people, where I didnt tag everyone as this was one part of our Arctic15 2.0.😇 To be completely honest, I spent most of #Arctic15 tucked away backstage and in the speaker lounge alongside our tireless Program team. While I missed out on a lot of the hands-on networking and floor celebrations during this milestone anniversary edition, our singular focus was making sure that the "show must go on" — seamlessly and dynamically. 🎬 And what a show it was! Managing a hyper-tight, minute-by-minute schedule allowed us to dive deep into a record-breaking number of topics across a massive variety of business sectors. And we managed to keep the tight schedule! A heartfelt thank you to all the brilliant speakers, sharp moderators, and insightful panelists who took our stages on June 11-12th. We know how incredibly packed your schedules are, and we are deeply grateful not just for your time on stage, but for your immense support of Arctic15 and the wider ecosystem. Thank you for the dedication you showed weeks before the event—taking the time out of your busy calendars to jointly plan, sync, and curate these high-value conversations with us. 💡 An event of this scale always brings surprises, and we owe a massive debt of gratitude to the wonderful professionals who stepped up and jumped in at the very last minute to cover open slots without missing a beat. 🏆 And of course, keeping that tight schedule moving on stage wouldn’t have been possible without our exceptional main stage hosts, Wilma Kivekäs and Tiitus Mäkelä, who brought elite energy and professionalism to the stage from start to finish (and Tiitus even sang)! 🎙️ Their smiles never ran out and were prepared to jump into absolutely any situation or script change without a moments notice. Wilma, Tiitus—thank you for being the voice, the face, and the heartbeat of our main stage. You didn't just host; you took complete ownership of the experience. 👑 A final, massive thank you goes to the phenomenal Kirsi Grünn , who organized absolutely everything flawlessly behind the scenes, bridging the gap between our speakers, Eventgarden, and our internal team to keep the gears turning perfectly. 🛠️❤️ To our startups, investors, partners, and wider audience: thank you for supporting our anniversary edition and making it unforgettable. The momentum doesn't stop here. We are officially pivoting into full preparation mode for NORDEEP Summit 2026 on September 16-17th in Espoo! 🚀 #arctic15 #nordeep #actionmatters

Thomas Due liked thisThomas Due liked thisHoly shit bro... Midjourney just built a full-body scanner that rivals an MRI in 60 seconds 🤯 The AI image generation company just stepped way outside its lane and built something nobody expected. It is called Midjourney Medical, a brand new health division from the same company famous for AI-generated art. Their first product is a full-body scanner called Ultrasonic CT. Step onto a platform, lower into a shallow pool of water, and pass through a ring of sensors that scans your entire body in about 60 seconds. No radiation. No magnetic fields. Just sound and water. CEO David Holz claims the quality rivals an actual MRI in a fraction of the time. The hardware runs on a licensing deal with Butterfly Network for ultrasound-on-chip technology. Midjourney plans to house these scanners inside a Midjourney Spa opening in San Francisco by the end of 2027, complete with saunas and cold plunges. At launch it will only offer body composition maps. No diagnosis yet. The long-term goal is massive. 50,000 units worldwide and a billion scans every single month. What do you think?👇

I saw hundreds of posts and messages from founders, investors, LPs, GPs, corporates, universities, public leaders, partners, speakers, volunteers, and ecosystem builders. Thank you for coming, showing up with energy, and making this edition unforgettable. 𝗔 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 This year celebrated the past 15 years of Arctic15 and started the next 15 years. We had the largest ARCTIC15 in history, with 3,250+ registrations. But the real achievement was the quality of the room: founder and investor connections, LP - GP discussions, corporate engagement, and trust built across the ecosystem. ARCTIC15 created a platform where capital, startups, public leadership, partners, universities, corporates, and ecosystem intelligence moved together. 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦, 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 To the founders: you are the reason this platform exists. We welcomed investors from 60+ countries, with investor organisations representing over €12.57 trillion in AUM, the strongest investor presence ARCTIC15 has achieved. We also launched the first 100 Innovations Shaping the Future Awards, creating a discovery layer for high potential innovation. 𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗔 SiRA siraplatform.com was one of the biggest breakthroughs of this edition. It delivered what we had wanted for years: SiRA Assess, SiRA Match, SiRA Connect, SiRA Proof, and SiRA Badge. With AI powered assistance, SiRA became the intelligence layer behind ARCTIC15. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 The future is about growing without losing what makes ARCTIC15 different: intimacy, curation, trust, and real conversations. Big, but intimate. Global, but Nordic. Ambitious, but still highly curated. Next year, we aim to take ARCTIC15 beyond 5,000+ participants, while keeping the experience personal, curated, and useful. In the coming years, the ambition is to build ARCTIC15 and ArcticStartup into an ecosystem reaching 100,000+ people through events, media, intelligence, partnerships, and community platforms. 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠, 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 None of this would have been possible without the ARCTIC15 team Fantasticos!, volunteers, crew, moderators, stage managers, investor relations, marketing, and everyone behind the scenes. Special thanks to Tommo Koivusalo and the City of Vantaa, our main partner, and to all our partners. Thank you to Minister Sakari Puisto, Mayor of Helsinki Daniel Sazonov, for their opening remarks. I felt clear national support for ARCTIC15 and the startup ecosystem. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧? 🗓️ Save the dates The biggest deep tech event in the Nordic region, NORDEEP — 5th Anniversary Edition 🌟, is coming on 16 - 17 September 2026 in Espoo, Finland. ARCTIC15 2027 — The Growth Edition ↗️ 2027 will take place on 16 - 17 June 2027. The next 15 years start now. Take your seat in the front row.

Thomas Due liked thisThomas Due liked thisWow!🤩 I går arrangerte vi Leading the Way for første gang.

Thomas Due liked thisThomas Due liked thisThe Foundry was a great opportunity to connect with founders, VCs, and LPs from the Nordics and beyond, all gathered in Kristiansand and Mandal to explore the latest developments in AI, robotics, and technology. Nysnø's team with Lene Elizabeth Hodge, Simen Malmin and Øystein Lende Eriksen left all energized about what lies ahead for the future of automation and robotics to solve critical climate and energy challenges. Lene joined Idse Luirink from Carbon Equity and Erik Bjørstad from Ferd Impact Investing to discuss the state of climate tech amidst the AI-boom. Our take: the need and appetite for climate tech is still here. A big thank you to everyone who shared insights, challenged perspectives, and helped shape the discussions.
