They broke Dijkstra’s “sorting barrier”, achieving: 𝐎(𝐦 · 𝐥𝐨𝐠^(2/3) 𝐧) runtime. 📌 For detecting the SSSP (Single Source Shortest Path) in a directed weighted graph with non-negative edges, we use Dijkstra → O(m + n log n) Now: New algorithm → O(m log^(2/3) n) 💡 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫? log^(2/3) n grows slower than log n, so for large graphs, the savings are huge. It was a great showcase of how the team is leveraging AI in different aspects of their product building and that 1 hour was absolutely worth it. A few things are still turning in my head: 🎙️ Design process isn't dead. It's just evolved over time. The time between "idea" and "shipped" is getting shorter than most of our processes were built for. The old hand-off model of discover, conceptualise, prototype, detail, deliver still matters. But the gaps between those stages are closing. Designers are moving from one stage to the next in the same afternoon now. 🎙️ Think in systems before you prompt. This session by Akash kikani where he showcased how they evolved the process to customise merchant experience and making every bit personalised including the products shown was great along with slack integration for a smoother workflow. Surely, a repeatable system around your prompts is where the actual leverage is. 🎙️ From handed off → to shipped. One of the sharpest reframes of the evening by aditya nawal and Akanksha Khanna. The old proof of a designer was "I shipped this design." The new one is "I shipped this to production, for real users." That's a different bar. And it's a better one. The loop just continues. Build a skill, use it, refine it, add polish, build the next skill. The process isn't gone it's becoming something that compounds. Kudos to Saurabh Soni and the Razorpay team for giving a sneak peak of how AI is being leveraged at workplaces. If you were there, what stayed with you? Shell connections, GeoCities, Tripod. The first browser I authored in was Netscape Navigator. HTML by hand. No Dreamweaver. Fireworks for slicing, then straight into the code. When I finally sat down to learn Claude Code, I didn't pick a toy project. I picked a real one. Matibhadra Sagara is a Dharma center in Bangalore. I've been their unofficial tech person since 2005. The website was from around 2010, sitting on a GCP bucket, untouched. It needed a complete rebuild. Spec-driven development felt like the right approach to try properly. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩. I started with a requirements document — information architecture, accessibility, SEO, responsiveness — built with Chat GPT's help. That became the foundation. Next, Google Stitch. Five design directions, five homepage variations. One had real potential. I asked Stitch to build out the remaining pages. It did it fast, with inconsistencies everywhere. I exported into Figma, corrected every screen, dropped in real images and copy. A few hours. Normally a week. Then I handed everything to Claude — assets organized, Figma files ready — and asked it to write the specification itself. It produced a design system file, a full spec, a sitemap, and flagged pages I hadn't designed. Then: build it. It hit rate limits around midnight. I came back at 1:30 AM. Claude finished in minutes. Eight pages, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, form submissions. Clean CSS. Clean JavaScript. Nothing a production team would be embarrassed to ship. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. The code wasn't 100% usable. I opened VS Code, went through the HTML, made changes. If I hadn't understood how it all worked, I couldn't have caught what needed fixing. The years of hand-coding mattered. I was also running Claude, GPT, and Gemini simultaneously — learning by doing, with the LLMs as teachers. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞. Four to six weeks. That's what I would have estimated for this project before — three weeks of design, three weeks of development, and I'd still have overshot it by 50%. Two days. Start to finish. 10x productivity is the number people throw around. For this project, 10x is conservative. You're talking about two days versus potentially two months of real-world delivery time. 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫. If you're a designer who understands code — even old-school HTML, even Flash-era ActionScript — you can do this now. Your technical fluency is the advantage. You know when the output is wrong. You know where to fix it. The LLM handles the volume; you handle the judgment. Find a project you actually care about. Not a tutorial. Something real, with real constraints, where you already know what good looks like. That's where you learn fastest.
