Omri Ross shared thisYesterday, I had the honor of receiving the Social Impact Award at the House of Commons, Westminster, on behalf of GoodDollar. GoodDollar.org is a Universal Basic Income (UBI) initiative designed to enable anyone, anywhere in the world, to claim daily G$. As AI and automation reshape the future of work, and as social polarization and economic inequality reach historic highs, inclusive economic infrastructure is shifting from bold ambition to urgent necessity. The project was initiated by Yoni Assia, who envisioned the concept and co-authored the original 2019 position paper together with Johannes Jensen and myself. Today, GoodDollar is led by Hadar Rottenberg, whose long-term leadership and commitment have been instrumental to its growth and impact and should have been the one receiving this award together with his current and former team. This recognition belongs to a dedicated team that has pushed this mission forward for years — including Tal Oron, Anna Stone, Dorit Dvir, Meri Fernández Sancho, Ziv Keinan, Tomer Bariach, Lauren Serota and many others who contributed along the way. Special thanks to Ziv Keinan and the XDC Foundation for organizing this together with Lord Kulveer Ranger, Dr Lisa Cameron, the STG-3 Group | The RWA Community. It is incredible to see what products people are building on both institutional and DeFi market. It is incredible to see the progress over the last 5 years. Met with traditional reputable institutions such as Franklin Templeton and learning about what they are building. Set with builders of incredible protocols including Aave Labs , Chainlink Labs Blockaid Sodot Morpho Hypernative Utila and many others. Also seeing how many more regulated companies like us are offering products that are based on DeFi. This is one of the most exciting and fulfilling moments of my business career. This has been a remarkable journey, from eToro’s humble beginnings in 2007, when Ronen, Yoni and their co-founder Dudu Ring, set out to democratise access to global financial markets in a simple way. I have watched with admiration, as they executed implementing their vision with perseverance and determination. They and their incredible team, with unbelievable innovative spirit, have transformed eToro into the largest social trading network in the world, catering to over 33 million users in 75 countries worldwide, empowering users to trade stocks, cryptocurrencies, commodities on multiple exchanges, realising their mission to make investing accessible to all. This journey to the Nasdaq IPO, has been filled with challenges, determination and unwavering belief in their goals. This highly successful IPO, is an extremely important milestone in joining the ranks of leading technology and fintech companies on the Nasdaq. This is also a testament to the incredible team they have built. Look around. Not just at the people - but at where we are. Le Château de Versailles. This is not a venue you book. This is a venue you earn. And tonight… our industry has earned it. This year marks the 7th edition of Paris Blockchain Week. Seven years in an industry that has already lived multiple cycles. We’ve seen the skepticism. The hype. The crashes. And the rebuilds. From day one we had the vision. We believed - early, and consistently - That the institutions would adopt digital assets. And we built for it. Not by chasing the buzz… but by curating the right room. And with a room like this… on a night like this… it felt right to share something with you first. Before the main stage. Before the press. Before anyone else. Because we are entering a new chapter. Paris Blockchain Week… is becoming Signal Week. Because this industry runs on signals. Regulatory signals. Capital signals. This recognition comes at a very poignant time. Today, we observe Yom HaZikaron, honoring the 25,040 fallen victims of war who gave their lives for our country. As we transition tonight into Israel’s Independence Day, the weight of our history meets the hope of our future. In these challenging times, I have never been prouder to be part of the Israeli tech ecosystem. So, I allow myself to return to it as it still doesn't quite feel real. What made the night was the people. Friends, colleagues, and so many faces from across different sectors, all in the same room. I'm genuinely grateful. We have big ambitions at ALTeR: Center for Advancing Law and Technology Responsibly, exploring how law, technology, innovation, and responsibility intersect in Aotearoa New Zealand. Nights like this make me feel we are not doing it alone. Making a thought-provoking start to the ALTeR Inaugural Conference on ‘Law, Technology, and Government’, held on April 16-17, Professor Andhov’s lecture explored the growing concentration of power in global technology companies and what it means for regulation, markets, and democratic accountability in an increasingly digital world. Omri Ross reacted on thisOmri Ross reacted on thisLast week I joined RoyalHacks hackathon at ITU and won first prize for the "Nigerian Prince" track with the goal of fighting phishing attempts. I've built XENA, a skill for OpenClaw that allows agents to join a decentralised protocol to report and share phishing attempts. If users want to report they need to stake some ETH and pay a small fee for every report. The amount staked gives them skin in the game, with the risk of getting slashed if they don't follow the protocol rules. Fees get redistributed among the most trusted agents. Things I've learnt: - It was the first time I've used OpenClaw and it won't be the last; - Phishing messages can have a "score"; I've used the formulas from two papers mainly: "Intelligent rule-based phishing websites classification" and "Heuristic-based strategy for phishing prediction: a survey of URL-based approach"; - I've applied the k-anonymity pattern to prevent publishing the full email of the attackers on-chain, I'm only uploading a keccak256 (Ethereum's hash) version; - The dashboard was built using Lovable, amazing experience!
