Md Nayeem Hossain shared thisPersonal efficiency gains are the most recognized impacts of using agents, rather than team-wide improvements. Approximately 70% of agent users agree that agents have reduced the time spent on specific development tasks, while 69% agree that agents have increased productivity. However, only 17% of users agree that agents have improved collaboration within their team, making it the lowest-rated impact by a significant margin. Md Nayeem Hossain shared this50% off any Laracasts subscription. For 2023, we're discounting all individual subscriptions and lifetime accounts by 50% off your next invoice. Here's how the math works out, based on which Laracasts plan you pick: Monthly: Save $7.50 off your first month. Yearly: Save $49.50 off your first year. Lifetime: Save $200. Clearly, the lifetime and yearly accounts will be the best bang for your buck. The lifetime option represents an incredible value. It includes access to everything we've ever produced in the last 10 years, as well as everything we create in the future.

Md Nayeem Hossain reacted on thisMd Nayeem Hossain reacted on thisI no longer live in the main town (Dhaka). I've left it last month and it's been exactly a month since I moved out after a lot of consideration and planning. The only reason being that I had to buy air purifier, wear masks, needed expensive water purifier and nevermind the traffic. It was mentally draining. The one of two good things was the instant access to healthcare, internet, electricity and other stuff. And once I got access to a good internet, electricity, starlink etc outside of the town, I've figured it's time I moved out. The only other good thing was access to people and community. It was a wonderful experience I had in the town, I've met so many awesome people over the years, learned a lot from everyone. I will probably go back there to attend various community events from time to time for sure. And I'm sure there will be new people I'll meet here inShaAllah. The new area still has traffic, noise and other stuff, but It'll probably stay at suburban level at least next few years. And, it hasn't impacted my work that much, and mentally it's more peaceful. Looking forward to it!

They usually assume you already have solid understanding of many “other” foundational topics. So I took the challenge to explain both the “other” stuff and the internals together — making them as easy as having cake. Not literally though… after all, it is internals! Ha ha! I’m planning to dive into: - How CPU, caches, memory, network, and block devices work - Kernel fundamentals - How databases like MySQL or Cassandra work - How search engines like Elasticsearch (Lucene) work - How containers work and what Docker actually does Starting with something humble yet one of the most important concepts — the stack in a process’s address space (virtual memory). We’ll take a step-by-step journey into the inner workings of the stack. Bismillah! P.S.: I’ll begin by recording the videos in Bangla, and will gradually introduce English versions as well, InshaAllah.

Recently explored the bKash integration in Laravel using the package https://lnkd.in/gFKYngkc, and it works really well. This package provides a smooth and developer-friendly way to connect bKash payment gateway into any Laravel application. It handles authentication, payment creation, execution, and callbacks with clean API endpoints and easy configuration. If you’re working on a Laravel-based eCommerce or wallet system in Bangladesh, this package can save hours of setup time and reduce complexity. A big thanks to the developer for making bKash integration so much easier for the Laravel community. #Laravel #PHP #bKash #PaymentGateway #Bangladesh #WebDevelopment #OpenSource

If you have a kid at home, you’ve probably heard of The Itsy Bitsy World (https://tibw.com.np), a baby toys and essentials shop. I built the e-commerce website for this business when it was already running through social media. After a year, the platform now has automated logistics integration with Nepal Can Move, covering order creation and tracking. This reduced manual follow-ups, removed duplication in the process, minimized delivery errors, and made order processing predictable for the business. One key challenge was that the raw API was inconsistent across endpoints. To prevent that complexity from affecting daily operations, I built a strict SDK with clean DTOs and static analysis, keeping logistics reliable as daily order volume grows. Work like this doesn’t draw attention, but it quietly keeps the business moving.

Around 2015, there were very few SaaS products in Nepal. Most software systems were basic ERP solutions, and technology choices were also limited. Developers mainly worked with PHP-based frameworks, and web applications felt slow and heavy. Organizations usually had to build everything from scratch, which meant hiring a full development team, maintaining servers, and handling many technical challenges on their own. Today, the situation has changed a lot. Modern web applications feel almost like mobile apps; fast, smooth, and easy to use. Cloud infrastructure, better frameworks, and APIs have made software more powerful and flexible. Along with this, SaaS products are growing rapidly in Nepal. Businesses can now use ready-made applications such as specialized CMS platforms, e-commerce systems, CRMs, and accounting tools without worrying about development or maintenance. The biggest advantage of SaaS is efficiency. Organizations no longer need to set up a large technical team just to run basic systems. With AI integration and agent-based AI tools, even small companies can automate tasks, analyze data, and make smarter decisions. In the coming years, SaaS products will play a major role in shaping how Nepali organizations work, grow, and compete in the digital world.

Something that doesn't get talked about enough in Nepal's fintech space: We celebrate digital payment growth numbers all the time. Transaction volumes are up. Wallet users are up. QR payments are up. Every NRB report shows impressive curves going up and to the right. What we don't talk about is what else grows when payment volumes grow. Every platform that moves money at scale eventually becomes a target. Not because the platform is bad. Because that's where the money is. The companies that prepare for this before it becomes a crisis will do fine. The ones that wait until fraud is visible in their numbers will spend 10x more fixing it than preventing it would have cost. #fintech #nepal

Why Is It So Hard for New IT Startups to Get Government Projects in Nepal? There are countless young professionals and startups capable of delivering innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Yet, when it comes to government projects, eligibility and capability often don’t seem to matter. A handful of individuals with the right connections and influence continue to secure most of the projects, not only in IT but across almost every sector. This leaves talented youth and emerging companies with little to no opportunity to prove their skills or contribute to national development. How can we expect startups to grow? How can we motivate young people to stay in Nepal and build something meaningful, when they are not even given a fair chance to participate? People often ask, “Why are the youth leaving the country?” The answer is simple: lack of opportunity, lack of transparency, and lack of trust in the system. It’s time we create an environment where opportunities are based on merit, not connections. The youth of this country are ready to contribute. They just need the system to open the door.

When “Digital Nepal” meets “User Frustration”, The Namaste Pay Story I wanted to believe in Namaste Pay, backed by Nepal Telecom and Rastriya Banijya Bank, it should’ve been a flagship digital payment app representing progress in Nepal’s fintech space. But the reality? The reviews speak louder than any press release. Screens full of 1-star ratings. Users locked out after loading balance. KYC verification crashes. Reset password doesn’t work. Slow, buggy, unresponsive. It’s not hate, it’s disappointment. Because this app could have been a symbol of how public-sector innovation can compete with private fintechs like eSewa, Khalti-IME. Instead, it’s become a cautionary tale about what happens when design, testing, and accountability are ignored. Nepal doesn’t need another wallet, it needs one that works. One that respects users’ time, trust, and data. There’s still time for Namaste Pay to fix this, but the first step is simple: Listen to your users. #NamastePay #Fintech #DigitalPayments #Nepal #UX #CustomerExperience #DigitalTransformation #TechInNepal

This doesn’t mean “don’t enter IT.” It means the easy path is gone. Before 2020, companies hired freshers to train. Now they hire only people who can ship from day one. That’s the root problem behind these numbers: Too many graduates Too few real-world-ready engineers Companies under cost pressure So freshers who only have a degree will struggle. Freshers with projects, GitHub, freelancing, and production-level skills will still get hired. The bar moved. It didn’t disappear. Adapt or get filtered out. 💯

Some said Nepal is too early for a dedicated review platform. But “too early” often means “not yet built.” E-commerce was once too early. Digital payments were too early. Ride-sharing was too early. Every ecosystem matures because someone decides to start. Mero Rating not predicting the future. We are participating in shaping it. The real risk is not starting early. The real risk is waiting for perfect conditions. Nepal’s digital growth will not happen someday. It is happening now.

System Design is the missing component in Bangladesh's software industry. The lack of focus on system design in our software industry is something I've repeatedly observed. We have many skilled developers who can create complete apps, write good code, and quickly fix bugs, but there is frequently a gap in their ability to design scalable, maintainable systems. The majority of teams dive right into coding without giving the following much thought: How services ought to interact How to deal with failures and heavy traffic What compromises between performance and consistency should be made? How to make it simple to expand the system in the future. These are not "extra knowledge" questions; they are fundamental system design questions. They specify whether your product will withstand expansion or break under its own weight. Additionally, it's not solely the responsibility of senior engineers. A high-level understanding of architecture, caching, load balancing, and database design is beneficial even for less experienced developers. System design must be viewed as a fundamental ability rather than an elective if Bangladesh's software sector is to produce goods that are scalable on a global scale. How has your experience been? Do you believe that businesses in this area devote enough time to design discussions prior to development?

The Misconceptions That Are Hurting Nepal’s IT Industry ⁉️ Most IT projects in Nepal don’t fail because of technology. They fail because of vague requirements and unrealistic expectations. After working in multiple IT roles: From freelancer, developer, to PM, here are the 3 major issues I see again and again: 1. “Simple Website” Expectation vs. Complex Reality Many conversations start with clients saying, “Simple website चाहियो।” But the actual needs include online ordering, payment integration, dashboards, SEO, content management, or even custom features. That’s not simple; that’s a full digital system. The mismatch between what’s said and what’s actually needed is the root cause of project chaos. 2. Unrealistic Pricing Expectations This is the BIG one. Because freelancers and startup IT companies are desperate, they offer: 👉 Rs.10,000k–20,000k websites 👉 “All features included.” 👉 “Unlimited changes.” Business owners think this is the real price. But that price doesn’t even cover the actual development cost. It creates a fish market where: 👉No standard pricing 👉No respect for developer time 👉No clarity between “template website” and “custom development.” 👉Good companies look expensive 👉Cheap ones fail the project Everyone suffers. 3. No Clear Requirement Documentation Most projects also begin without clear requirements, documentation, content plan, scope, timeline, or boundaries. When there is no clarity at the start, issues, disputes, and frustrations are guaranteed later. Development doesn’t fail at the end; it fails at the beginning when expectations and requirements don’t match. The Consequences And here’s what happens because of all this: 👉Cheap developers fail projects 👉Business owners lose trust in IT companies 👉Developers get mentally burned out 👉No standard market pricing 👉Nepal’s IT industry gets undervalued globally 👉High-quality developers stop taking Nepali clients 👉Professionalism becomes harder to maintain And the cycle keeps repeating. So What’s the Solution? Here’s what can fix this step by step: 👉A simple 2–3 page requirement documentation at the start solves 80% confusion. 👉Educate Clients on What “Simple” Means. Show them examples of features and actual effort. 👉Transparent Pricing Model: Explain template vs custom development. 👉Maintain clear scope, boundaries & maintenance plan 👉Build Digital Literacy for Business Owners 👉IT Company Owners Should Stop Undercutting: Not every project needs to be “the cheapest.” It needs to be the right solution. Nepal has amazing IT talent. But to grow as an industry, we need clarity, communication, and education from both sides. I’d love to hear your perspective on this. Let’s build a better, more educated digital ecosystem together. 🙌

The unintended consequence of Nepal's social media ban: national internet speeds plummet as VPN usage skyrockets, creating a technical nightmare for local ISPs and businesses When the government announced its social media restrictions, nobody anticipated the technical avalanche that would follow. As a developer watching this unfold, I've seen firsthand how our digital landscape transformed overnight. Here's what happened: Day 1: Social media goes dark. Day 2: VPN downloads explode. Day 3: ISPs start struggling with unprecedented traffic patterns. Day 7: Internet speeds drop by 40%. The irony? In trying to control information flow, they've created a perfect storm: 🔸 Local businesses can't reach customers 🔸 Startups losing vital marketing channels 🔸 ISPs drowning in encrypted traffic 🔸 Tech companies scrambling to adapt As someone deeply embedded in Nepal's tech community, I'm seeing the ripple effects everywhere. Developers can't access GitHub properly. Remote workers are struggling with video calls. Even basic web browsing has become frustratingly slow. The numbers tell a stark story: - 70% of users now routing through VPNs - 3x increase in international bandwidth consumption - 2x higher operating costs for ISPs - 50% drop in digital marketing effectiveness But here's what fascinates me: this situation perfectly illustrates how interconnected our digital infrastructure really is. One policy change has triggered a cascade of technical challenges that nobody prepared for. The solution isn't simple. We need to balance: - Digital rights - Technical infrastructure - Business needs - National security This isn't just about social media anymore. It's about the future of Nepal's digital economy. What do you think? Have you experienced similar challenges ? #NepalTech #DigitalRights #InternetFreedom #TechCommunity
