The food system transformation doesn’t happen in PowerPoint. Last week, I joined Hamburg’s first #InhouseFarming – Feed & Food Convention. I had the chance to share a Keynote about the massive potential of the protein space – and how we at MicroHarvest are building scalable, industrial solutions to unlock it. Afterwards, I joined a great panel with Prof. Dr. Julian Voss, Clémence Olivier, Flynn Seeger and Lynn Bornholdt, moderated by Simone Poppe, discussing what we need to scale innovation in food and farming. #Europe has what it takes: Farmers, world-class engineers and scientists, and lots of IP. 🔧 Food system transformation won't happen through software decks and asset-light dreams – it requires ownership and long-term commitment. 🌍 We should take care of our nutrition ourselves. Not alone, but not outsourced either. 🤝 This is not about either-or: there’s no path forward without farmers. Thanks to everyone who made this event happen.

Why Our Research Begins With Cancer At the Swiss Institute for Medical Cannabis Research, we are committed to bringing rigorous science to an area that has too often been left to anecdote and guesswork. Our mission is patient-centered — and when we looked at where our work could have the greatest immediate impact, the choice was clear: cancer. For many cancer patients, conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy can save lives — but they can also bring relentless side effects: pain, nausea, loss of appetite, insomnia, anxiety. In chronic diseases or complex medical situations, the need for effective supportive care is urgent. What the evidence tells us: Preclinical studies, including the work of Professors Manuel Guzmán and Cristina Sánchez, show that certain cannabinoids may induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells. Clinical data supports the use of full-spectrum cannabis extracts for symptom relief, appetite restoration, and improved quality of life in oncology. Extracts containing cannabinoids working together in various percentages which will be studied — when produced and administered under strict medical oversight — can be tolerated and sustained over time. This is why our first federally authorized research pilot focuses on full-spectrum cannabis extracts for cancer patients. We aim to generate robust, transparent data that can guide doctors, inform policy, and, most importantly, give patients safe, evidence-based options. Our work is not about trends. It’s about science, ethics, and improving care for people who need it most.
