Most shimmer implementations still animate each placeholder separately. That means more work than needed for something that should feel simple. You might find my reply to this question funny but I wanted to hint a deeper trap in system design. People see one thing Elasticsearch is exceptional at, then try to make it solve everything. That is how bad architecture starts. Elasticsearch is fantastic when your dominant query is: – keyword search – fuzzy matching – ranking by relevance – faceting and aggregations on indexed fields That is what it is optimized for. But your primary database has a very different job. It has to be the source of truth. It has to handle: - transactional writes - constraints - multi-row consistency - updates and deletes cleanly - predictable durability semantics - simpler operational recovery when things go wrong That is not Elasticsearch’s strongest game. [1] Search engines optimize for retrieval They build inverted indexes so reads are fast and flexible. [2] Primary databases optimize for correctness They are built to preserve state safely under writes, failures, retries, and concurrent updates. [3] The write path is very different Updating a record in a database is not the same as updating many analyzed index structures in a search engine. [4] Consistency expectations are different For search, a few seconds of staleness is often acceptable. For balances, orders, permissions, and inventory, it usually is not. So the common production pattern is: - database as source of truth - Elasticsearch as derived read model for search Data flows from the DB into Elasticsearch through CDC, event pipelines, or background indexing jobs. So, if you ask me: “Can Elasticsearch store data?” Of course it can. But that does not automatically make it a good system of record even if it is an excellent search engine. I am responsible for the development and deployment of the Android apps. Most of my time is spent on the development of the SuperShare app, which is a social media app that allows users to share their content with their friends and family. The app is currently available on the Google Play Store. I make key decisions on the development of the app and work closely with the product team to ensure that the app is up to date with the latest trends in the market. I also work closely with the marketing team to ensure that the app is marketed effectively.
