Dear Developers and Game Dev Community: Warning you all, Pakistanis and Indians, Beware of scam!!! Many startups don't behave like startups but rather project themselves as people being big in the industry. I am running a startup and I can tell you with my own experience. Only to grow the popularity of the page, many startups I know of, post and advertise fake job in sales. Not many people have the potential to realise that the job is fake. At the end, it's us, the experienced one realising after talking to the team whether the job is real or not. Even when they short list you as a candidate, they don't have money to pay you but rather offer a handy pay back of 500 US Dollars specially South Asian candidates and that too after two or three months may be, once they complete the probation period. During probation, they offer commission based structure and many times, we know that no studio is interested in sourcing petty work like UI but rather expect you to develop characters for them or write clean and efficient code. Please don't fall for the trap of a company having 30 thousand followers on LinkedIn being legit. They are creating fake profiles on LinkedIn and using AI generated images of girls as a Human Resources Representative of their company. Warning you all, beware. It takes real courage to run a game studio because you never know where you stand. Behaving big and not producing anything will not take you anywhere as well as won't let you win big hustle projects because big names won't pay you more but rather pay less to get more from you. Think before wasting your time, don't fall for fake job advertisements, don't trust a good aesthetic website, if you're smart, you'll realise it yourself or else experienced ones will tell you with their experience.

Why most Software/IT companies are stuck under $20,000/month, here is the truth: The Pakistani market is laced with startups, and everyone who got 2 good clients forms a company, good for them. They make it sound like a big company, while after forming a company, their burden gets heavier than before, such as: - Overheads - Onsite Office - HR - Operations - Micromanagement (major issue) - Race to make illogical content on LinkedIn And every other thing they see someone else doing, they copy it. Yes, they copy, that's what they do! Copy, copy and copy! If someone is hiring this way, I would do the same. If someone is setting up upwork team, I would do the same If someone is outreaching on LinkedIn, same, same, same. And every other company in this domain in Pakistan will sound the same. If you ask them, there are gazillions of companies in Pak, why are you forming one? Answer: Nothing but to make money, but do they make more money? How many startups do we see daily starting and failing because of this mentality? Only a few of them get lucky, not that they are doing anything better, but lucky. You will find someone getting to millions, and see how they did it! You will see they were really different otherwise, you will find a stuck startup or company for years I am not criticising any company or people, just the mental state we are in. My suggestions: Find your why. Be who you are. and learn how to do Business. That's it.

👋 Hello fellow developers! Myself Ahmed Jawad Aman 👨‍💻 I’m a Senior Android App Developer. Currently working at EmergSol Technologies Pvt Ltd, Islamabad. Today I will explain something very important for every Android developer: Why do apps get rejected on Google Play Store? If you are a new developer, rejection can feel very stressful. But don’t worry. If you understand the main reasons, you can avoid mistakes and get your app published smoothly. Let’s go step by step. 1. Violation of Play Store Policies Google has strict rules for apps. If your app breaks any policy (content, ads, user data, etc.), it will be rejected. Always read Google’s Developer Policy Center before uploading. 2. Poor App Quality If your app has too many bugs, crashes, or doesn’t work on basic devices, it will be rejected. Test your app on multiple devices and emulators before submitting. 3. Misleading App Information If your app title, description, or screenshots are fake or misleading, rejection is guaranteed. Example : Writing “WhatsApp 2025” as your app name. Always keep everything honest and clear. 4. Copyright and Trademark Issues Using someone else’s logo, music, video, or brand name without permission is a big reason for rejection. Always use original content or proper licensed material. 5. Privacy Policy Missing If your app collects any user data (like location, contacts, or even analytics), you must provide a Privacy Policy. Without it → rejection. 6. Harmful or Malicious Behavior If your app tries to install APKs, steal data, spam ads, or send harmful links, Google will ban it immediately. 7. Too Many Ads Google allows ads, but if your app shows too many ads, sudden popups, or covers the main screen, it will be rejected. Ads should not disturb user experience. 8. Duplicate Apps If you upload the same app multiple times (like 10 copies of the same wallpaper app), it will be rejected. Always bring something new. 9. Payment Policy Violation If you sell subscriptions or items in your app but don’t use Google Play Billing, rejection will happen. Always integrate Play Billing Library for payments. 10. Incomplete App Submission If you miss important details during submission (screenshots, content rating, app icon, etc.), your app can be rejected. Double-check everything before clicking “Submit.” Tips to Avoid Rejection Read Google Play policies carefully. Test your app on real devices. Add a clear Privacy Policy. Use original content only. Every year, Pakistan produces up to 50,000 CS and IT graduates — yet only 1 in 10 is considered industry-ready. . . . After four years of Computer Science or Software Engineering, many graduates still: • Struggle to secure quality jobs • Feel unprepared for real-world roles • Remain far from global companies like Google or Microsoft This is not a talent issue. It is a systemic gap. The Core Problem: Theory vs Practice Universities largely focus on: • Theoretical foundations • Exam-oriented learning • Academic performance The industry, however, evaluates: • Practical problem-solving skills • Hands-on project experience • Exposure to production-level systems This disconnect becomes the biggest barrier between graduation and employment. Why top tech companies remain out of reach Global technology companies do not hire based on: • Degree titles • CGPA alone • Classroom achievements They hire based on: • Demonstrated skills • Real systems built • Ability to solve practical problems at scale As a result: Graduation happens — employability often does not. Where does the tech youth go instead? Many graduates today: • Seek opportunities abroad • Shift toward freelancing and remote work • Explore entrepreneurship in smaller numbers These paths are driven by limited local absorption capacity and persistent skills gaps — not by lack of ambition. The Way Forward For students and early-career professionals: • Build real-world projects alongside your degree • Maintain a strong portfolio and GitHub presence • Gain industry exposure early through internships or freelancing The industry does not hire syllabi. I finally listened to Ammar Ahmed and built a small team for my new project in the real estate space. My friends would often tell me "Why don't you just build a team" like all agencies do in Pakistan? And that just never sat right with me. The stigma of quality attached to agencies in Pakistan is a route I just avoid. And honestly? I did not even have an idea on how to maintain quality without actually owning the complete stack yourself. Now don't get me wrong. I've done freelancing for 3+ years with a retention rate of over 90%, and while mostly I was the one man army - in some projects I've hired a team as well. But the experience when I hired a team was just subpar to say the least. Reason being? Low quality code and unsatisfied clients. I was being unreasonable to both my clients and my team - forwarding each other's responses and banking on WhatsApp communication saying "Bhai jaldi ship kardo deadline agayi hai". But working at Chronicler changed that perspective. I learnt how measures could be made to ensure quality while moving at speed with a team. No micromanaging - just setting standards. And I decided to employ this in my new project. We're still in week 1 so early days to comment - but here's my approach now: Hired close friends that I've known for years and trust their skills. Set up Linear for task management. Made proper technical documentation and weekly milestones shared with client and developers to ensure we are on the same page. Reviewing code extensively and finding any scalability issues before they become problems. The hardest part? Giving your developers room to breathe. Being a developer myself - I love to code and dive deep in the technical specifications. All my clients would tell you that. But the urge to not dictate the strategy but rather say "Can you research on how xyz can be best implemented, devise a strategy, and share it with me how you think it could be done?" And that's one thing I want to learn - controlling the urge to not micromanage, to not just write it myself, to not just take decisions with my experience but rather give room for improvement, for new ideas, for better strategies and realize someone might have more context than me to devise a strategy. But it's honestly great. Hiring a team gives you time. Time to breathe, time to focus on other aspects, and time to make LinkedIn posts (you'd never see me doing this if I was the one man army like I was at some of my other projects). Now I've definitely not closed doors for that - and owning the full stack is still my game and I love it. But this is just a new experience, and I'm hoping to learn with it. Still have space for some new projects. I specialize in Next.js, React and AI integrations, built products at an a16z backed startup, and have shipped 50+ projects with a near-perfect client retention rate.
