Next month, at VLDB 2025 in London, Azure Data will present two papers: 1) Panagiotis Antonopoulos and Divyesh Tikmani will present “MD-MVCC: Multi-version Concurrency Control for Schema Changes in Azure SQL Database,” an upcoming SQL feature to let queries run concurrently even in presence of DDL. 2) Harsha Simhadri, Nitish Upreti and Krishnan Sundaram will present “Cost-Effective, Low Latency Vector Search with Azure Cosmos DB,” a deep integration of DiskANN (a state-of-the-art vector indexing library) into our cloud-native operational database to enable semantic search. We look forward to meeting fellow database practitioners.
