Test engineering already requires a bit of everything: hardware knowledge, troubleshooting skills, system thinking. When you add high-level LabVIEW expertise on top of that, you are asking for a rare combination. Most resumes that list LabVIEW fall into one of three categories: ➜ Used it once in a university lab ➜ Maintained an existing test system ➜ Tweaked a few VIs without breaking things, but never built a system from the ground up The developers who really stand out tend to share a few traits: ➜ They think in systems, not just VIs ➜ They understand the hardware as well as the software, and know the integration between the two is where much of the real work happens ➜ They care about maintainability because someone else will inherit the code The best LabVIEW programmers sit at an interesting intersection: Part electrical engineer, part software architect, and part detective. That combination is rare. And it’s often why companies bring in dedicated LabVIEW specialists when a test system needs to be built, scaled, or fixed quickly.

Konkret verloren drei Männer im Alter von 44, 63 und 66 Jahren nach einer Impfung gegen das Coronavirus das Leben. Die Hinterbliebenen der Verstorbenen sollen nun eine Entschädigung erhalten." 🔸️"Der jüngste Mann hinterlässt dabei zwei Kinder und eine Frau. We recently reviewed a mixed-signal board where a 16-bit ADC was “randomly” losing effective resolution in the lab. Firmware was blamed. Shielding was considered. The analogue front-end was questioned. The issue wasn’t the converter. It was the return path. The analogue ground and power ground were technically “connected”. But the connection point forced measurement current to share copper with high-di/dt switching return. On the schematic, everything looked clean. On the PCB, the current path told a different story. The result: • 3–4 LSB of apparent “noise” • Temperature-dependent drift • Lab measurements that didn’t match simulation After restructuring the return geometry and controlling where currents actually close their loop: • ENOB recovered • Repeatability stabilised • No component changes No new parts. No firmware tricks. No filtering added. Just controlled current paths. 7 best practices for designing #RF vias 1️⃣ Design the via to maintain low return loss at the input, especially when dealing with wide bandwidths extending into the GHz range. 2️⃣ Ensure the presence of vias does not negatively impact the insertion loss. While insertion loss is not usually the focal point for vias, it is still a critical factor. 3️⃣ Maintain a minimum spacing of λ/10 between the ground vias. For instance, at 2.4 GHz, the clearance should be 6 mm. 4️⃣ Place ground-connected vias near the PCB edges to reduce RF losses through the laminate. The EMFs are less confined near the edges. However, avoid placing them too close to the edge to prevent mechanical issues. 5️⃣ For mmWave PCBs, implement a via fence around grounded coplanar waveguides to enhance high-frequency isolation. This technique also suppresses frequencies below a cut-off and prevents mmWave interference with other signals. 6️⃣ Avoid return or stitching vias for slow-speed signals with rise times higher than 20 ns (e.g., GPIOs, I2C, and control signals) because such signals are less sensitive to impedance discontinuities. 7️⃣ Prioritize transition methods and the implementation of return paths (e.g., stitching vias) for higher-frequency signals or those with fast rise times to minimize radiation or crosstalk. 👇Check the link in the comments for more details. --> Repost for better reach. #rfengineers #radiofrequencydesigners #hardwareengieers #electricalengineering

Rohde & Schwarz acquires ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH and expands its T&M portfolio for power electronics Effective July 1st 2025, the technology group Rohde & Schwarz has acquired ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH. The privately owned company based in Oberursel, Hesse, has been designing, developing and manufacturing high-precision power measurement equipment for four decades. The acquisition complements the Rohde & Schwarz test and measurement product portfolio. This is an important step that contributes to the company's long-term growth strategy and will benefit the customers of both companies. The rapid advancement of electrification has revolutionised the energy and mobility sectors and provides decisive impulses for industry and society. Power electronics is the indispensable driver of this transformation. With the acquisition of ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH, Rohde & Schwarz complements the broad R&S T&M portfolio. In the constantly changing market environment of the past few decades, ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH has managed to achieve continuous growth through innovative solutions and products. The ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH portfolio will contribute to expanding the market position of Rohde & Schwarz in the field of power electronics. The family owned company in Hesse with around sixty employees will be fully integrated into the Rohde & Schwarz group. The location will be retained and will continue to be used for power measurement equipment.
