Daniel Obodovski posted thisAs an IOT practitioner, I still see 3-6% devices offline in production fleets - and some high volume SKUs spike to 10-20%. That's lost visibility, SLA penalties, costly swap-outs, and engineering pulled off the roadmap to chase root causes across, radios, sensors, firmware and cloud. We've been tackling this with a hybrid reliability stack: deterministic real-time processing for the fast path, adaptive ML for drift and prediction, and AI agents that automate the Detect->Predict->Diagnose->Improve loop, tagging noisy telemetry, tracing failures, and escalating with context so the right team acts first. Result: higher uptime, fewer truck rolls, and engineering back to building. Exciting news - Sasha Banjac and myself just co-authored and published a 9-page white paper. It breaks down the architecture, shows where agents add leverage, and outlines a 30-day pilot you can run on your own data. If you're a CEO or VP of Operations at a device maker, 3PL or logistics platform, feel free to forward this to your CTO/engineering lead - or dive in yourself. Download the white paper + book a live walkthrough (no slides - just your data) - link in the first comment #iot #ligisticstech #supplychain #assettracking #reliabilityengineering #aiagents #digitalops #genai

Daniel Obodovski shared thisHere's a rigorous approach that combines classic data science with agentic AI to solve IOT device failures - check it out:Daniel Obodovski shared thisShould we rely on AI agents for everything? No, they’re powerful, but not always the right fit. The best teams don’t chase every trend, they use the right tools where they make a real difference. Here’s how we approach it: * For tasks that need to run fast and don’t need human input, we use low-level code and direct implementations. * When we’re testing ideas or building complex models, Python gives us the speed and flexibility we need, especially when human input adds value. * For work that used to require skilled analysts, like understanding context, making judgment calls, or managing complex decisions - we bring in agents. In the past, data scientists saved computing power by spotting patterns. Today, agents help save time by doing the kind of thinking people used to do. The goal is to design systems that combine human thinking with machine speed. That’s how you get smart, useful results, without overcomplicating things. If this makes sense, let’s talk. If it doesn’t, let’s talk anyway.

Daniel Obodovski liked thisDaniel Obodovski liked thisAfter our presentation at Stanford HCI Group, I crashed a CS programming class lecture on agentic coding by someone from Anthropic. During the class, joking or not, the professor said "The kind of coding we do in this class, we're probably not going to do anymore going forward. Maybe we won't teach this class at all." Later in the day I had a debate with my teenage son on the same topic. He is convinced letting agents write code is cheating. My position is that yes, it is, but you have to define what level of abstraction is *not* cheating for you in your current situation--is copying from Stack Overflow? This got me thinking about about my relationship to vibe coding--I find it a joyous release--and code literacy, so today I wrote some of my thoughts down: https://lnkd.in/gpXQnsN6

Daniel Obodovski liked thisDaniel Obodovski liked this20 years later From housekeeper to... keynote speaker, best-selling author, educator, innovator... and probably one of the most vocal AI evangelists you’ll meet. This industry gave me everything. My story proves that anything is possible. If I (an immigrant with no English and zero confidence) could find my place under the big, warm hospitality sun, then anyone can. Follow your passion. Work hard. Keep learning. Try, fail, try again - and don’t give up. True growth only happens when you are outside of your comfort zone. And after you've been uncomfortable enough times - you finally come to peace with it and learn to actually enjoy it. I’ve always pushed myself to be the best at everything I took on. I was a pretty darn good housekeeper - I approached it with pride, passion, and efficiency. And in every role that followed, I gave it my all. I kept searching for meaning until I finally found it. Daniel Obodovski liked thisDaniel Obodovski liked thisSomething personal I don't often share publicly... Like many of you, I've been part of the "sandwich generation" — managing a demanding career while helping coordinate care for an aging parent from across the country. The logistics, the emotional weight, the endless coordination between doctors, facilities, and family members... it's a lot. That experience has stayed with me, and I'm now exploring a solution designed to make this easier for adult children managing their parents' healthcare and daily living needs. Before I go any further, I want to hear from YOU. Are you currently helping manage a parent's healthcare, living situation, or daily care — whether nearby or from a distance? If so, I'd love to connect for a quick 20-minute conversation to hear about your experience. No pitch, no agenda — just genuine curiosity about the challenges you're navigating. Drop a comment, send me a DM, or reply here if you're open to chatting. I'd be truly grateful. 🙏 #CaregiverSupport #AgingParents #Caregiving #HealthcareInnovation #SandwichGeneration

Great post, Robert Heath, America's Big Beautiful Bill will help us win the 6G Race with AI-RAN. Densification is key. It requires design aesthetics, support for decades of upgrades, and a significant reduction in deployment costs for operating partners. The other key is that AI-RAN supports frequency agility, freeing our wireless spectrum through advanced reconfigurability and real-time baseband processing. For example, radar interference that would usually shut down an entire system, AI freezes only the affected frequencies, keeping the rest online. Cerberus Capital Management ODC AI-RAN. Also, dozens of industry leaders are supporting the N79 spectrum band for the world's first RAN network built from the ground up for Machine-to-Machine and Autonomous Systems, supporting ground and low-altitude airspace. We believe $TAO is not just another blockchain project. It’s the blueprint for an entirely new economy of intelligence – one that is open, incentivized, and constantly evolving. What Ethereum did for smart contracts, Bittensor is doing for AI. As deep believers in the convergence of finance, frontier technology, and global decentralization, our conviction in TAO is both strategic and philosophical. We’d like to extend our admiration to the Bittensor founding team – Jacob Steeves, Sebastian Leigh, and the early community – for their courage to build outside the system, and the brilliance to make it work. We’re excited to be part of this journey, and we believe the best is yet to come. #AI #Bittensor #TAO #Web3 #DecentralizedAI #MachineLearning #CryptoInnovation

EvoNexus company Biolinq announcement of the needle-free, autonomous wearable biosensor began as a technology developed at UC San Diego over 12 years ago. What they have accomplished describes why EvoNexus was created 15 years ago by Vice Admiral Walter Davis and myself, to "Turn Transformative Ideas Into Fundable, Commercially-Viable Companies." Their announcement this week has been the result of over a decade of deep science and technology. That is exactly what EvoNexus is looking for: transformative companies. The press release and my quote is shown below: https://lnkd.in/gUSi_uv4

TechCrunch 3M followers - 2/20/26 "Solid-state transformers are poised to arrive at a time when existing transformers are aging and demand for new ones is surging — Most transformers on the grid today are several decades old, according to the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR; formerly the National Renewable Energy Laboratory) https://lnkd.in/euunZkjD . As demand from data centers, EV chargers and other parts of the grid rises, the NLR expects the amount of power flowing through transformers to double by 2050." #grid #nextgengrid #electrification #transformers #solidstatetransformers https://lnkd.in/e4GxVmZ2

I cannot wait to share the next evolution of #TechMed at LSI next month, illustrating how data strategies are driving innovation, as we have seen in robotics and autonomous vehicles. DCVC-backed companies that build data flywheels have been at the forefront of several industries for over 15 years: they are core parts of the fabric of #TechBio: and are now driving into the part of healthcare traditionally dominated by MedTech. Now, both new innovators and large incumbents can work in tandem on world-class healthcare models that will drive down costs and improve patient outcomes. Happy to be partnering with Christopher Cleary on this talk.

Interesting — check out this new study on the "Curtail to Compute" Strategy: A major report from Next 10 today proposes siting data centers in rural California near solar farms to utilize curtailed energy (excess power that can't reach urban grids). This approach could bypass the multi-billion dollar grid upgrades currently stalling AI expansion.

Management has been clear: 2026 may see slight margin compression as a full year of higher DevEx rates and infrastructure/safety investments catch up with bookings growth. But the intent is to prioritize long term genre expansion and platform durability, and then reestablish cost leverage beyond 2026 (notably in CY27), as the investments mature and the platform scales into a larger AI/infrastructure base. In Q3, Roblox already showed operating leverage in fixed costs while increasing DevEx; it also highlighted that free cash flow growth should meaningfully exceed bookings growth in 2026-a crucial indicator for longer term valuation support.

🚀 IHMC + Conduit Venture Labs: Turning Research Breakthroughs into Real World Impact I’m thrilled to share a new partnership between IHMC (Institute for Human & Machine Cognition) and Conduit Venture Labs to help advance real-world commercial paths for IHMC’s world-leading research. IHMC has been at the forefront of work in embodied AI, human-machine teaming, robotics, and human performance for decades. The opportunity now is not just continued discovery — it’s ensuring these technologies make it out of the lab and into the world, where they can drive real impact across defense, industry, and everyday life. 💡 Why this matters We’re at a pivotal moment for U.S. innovation. Across several critical domains — from advanced manufacturing to physical AI — the U.S. is falling behind. At the same time, our research institutions remain among the strongest in the world. The gap isn’t invention– it's translation Translating research into commercial outcomes isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s essential infrastructure. Too many breakthroughs don't exit the lab or stall before reaching scale, leaving economic, strategic, and societal value on the table. This partnership brings a builder’s lens early — evaluating multiple commercialization pathways (licensing, venture creation, strategic alliances) to ensure IHMC's breakthroughs reach real markets for impact and scale, delivering measurable returns. Thanks to IHMC's Ken Ford, Founder and CEO emeritus & Morley Stone, CEO of IHMC, for their vision and leadership. I have been a huge fan ever since I met Ken and got introduced to the organization. 👏 🙌 Lets go!!! 🚀 🚀 🚀 https://lnkd.in/gHCZkFFM #Ai #PhysicalAI, #Robotics #DeepTech #Commercialization #Innovation #PhysicalAI #TechTransfer #VentureBuilding Amish P. Most early-stage founders in Israel know the struggle of applying for the Israel Innovation Authority’s Pre-Seed Grant. Applications often get stuck on the requirement to first show matching investment. We designed the EXPAND III program to remove that barrier. This cohort focuses on Physical AI, robotics, and simulation, areas where early development is expensive and time-sensitive. We’ve secured $300K in investment from Creations VC for each startup accepted into the program. If you’re selected, that investment can serve as your matching capital, helping secure an additional ≈$350K in non-dilutive IIA funding. Instead of chasing investors to qualify for a grant, you can focus on building your company. That’s what makes EXPAND III different. We built a structure that helps founders move fast, meet the IIA’s matching requirement, and gain real funding momentum from the start. (link to apply in comments)

That gap you mention is exactly where the real constraint is emerging. Compute is advancing faster than the physical layer can be deployed and stabilized. What we’re seeing is that housing, thermal behavior, and energy integration have to be engineered as a unified system — not added afterward. With VEGO2 we are approaching this from the envelope outward: standardized, sealed, high R-value structures that can be mass produced and deployed rapidly, with predictable thermal performance in extreme environments. If the physical layer isn’t controlled, timelines will always slip — regardless of how fast the compute evolves.

Elisha Tropper suggested that SpaceX should be talking to Arbell Energy. Then, I listened to Elon Musk’s recent interview with Dwarkesh Patel and John Collison, where he goes into detail about how SpaceX is thinking about energy scale and solar performance. Much of what he described closely mirrors the way we’re thinking about solar for space. This now feels less like a distant goal and more like a near-term conversation.
