I've been selected to join the Board of Advisors for the Professional Leadership Program (PLP) at the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business. The PLP has been developing the next generation of servant leaders for 30 years. Students build real-world skills in communication, teamwork, ethical practice, and problem solving through weekly workshops, industry mentors, networking events, and hands-on experiences like pitch competitions and mock interviews. It's not a club. It's a development platform. What drew me to this is simple. The gap between technical ability and leadership readiness is real, and I've seen it throughout my career. Programs like PLP are doing the work to close that gap before students ever walk into their first job, and you all know this is a gap. We talk about it all the time in our networking events. ㅤ And I'll be honest, there's a personal layer to this one. UNT is my daughter's alma mater. Getting to give back to a university that's already meant something to my family makes this role a little more special. Looking forward to contributing to the program and to the students who are putting in the work to grow into leaders. Spoke today on “Brand Mohali” at the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 hosted at Plaksha University. As President of Mohali IT City IT Companies Association, I shared perspectives on how the region can strengthen its position as a hub for AI, SaaS innovation, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs). In my experience, what actually moves the needle in these programs is much less glamorous: • weekly executive visibility into real risk, not vanity milestones • clear no-go criteria before pressure builds • rollback rehearsals that prove recovery is real • monitoring aligned to mission threads, not dashboard theater • dependency exposure before a cutover window turns into a surprise • clear ownership when internal teams and vendors start pointing at each other That’s the difference between a consultant and a strategic partner. The visible milestone gets the applause. The invisible discipline prevents the damage. That’s the work Tower Workshop is built around. Safe modernization rarely looks dramatic from the outside. In David’s day, shepherds lived with their flock. Their tools were not symbolic. They were survival for the shepherd and the sheep. The rod was a heavy club used to fight off predators. It meant, “If danger comes, it goes through me first.” The staff was for rescue and guidance. Pulling sheep out of holes. Redirecting them on dangerous terrain. Correction without fear. Strength and care. Protection and guidance. Both used for the flock, not against them. Leaders today carry the same two responsibilities. THE ROD = PROTECTION Blocking chaos. Removing toxic threats. Creating stability. Taking responsibility when things go wrong. Protection brings comfort because people know the rod isn’t aimed at them. THE STAFF = GUIDANCE Helping people out of holes they can’t climb out of alone. Redirecting with clarity. Keeping them moving toward what’s good. Guidance brings comfort because people know you are there to help, not punish. Chew on this: Where do I need to protect my family, teams, etc? Where do I need to guide these same people? For Christian Leaders: Where do I need to let God do the same for me? When we lead with both protection and direction, we create comfort. And comfort creates the space for people to thrive.
