Amy Zobec shared thisWe have just published our annual letter, and are excited to announce that last year, businesses running on Stripe generated $1.9 trillion in total volume, up 34% from 2024, and equivalent to roughly 1.6% of global GDP. Much of this is driven by bifurcation within industries. In retail, for example, US brick-and-mortar sales grew just 5% over the past 3 years, whereas ecommerce sales grew 30% over the same period (both in inflation-adjusted terms). This is an incredible opportunity, and I don't take lightly the foundation I'm building on. A huge thank you and congratulations to Tyler Bryson, who led this region with vision, energy, and an unwavering commitment to our customers and team and is now stepping into the Global CRO role. Tyler leaves big shoes to fill and I'm honored to carry that work forward. There's no one better positioned to continue to lead Stripe's revenue organization on a worldwide stage, and I can't wait to see what he builds. And thanks to Eileen O'Mara for what she built globally before him. I know she will do incredible things as Vice Chair. Stripe is at an extraordinary moment, the opportunity in front of us is massive, and we have the people, the product, and the purpose to capture it. Looking forward to getting to work!

I had the pleasure of chatting with the incredible Ryan Martin on eCommerce Australia podcast to unpack the whirlwind that was BFCM 2025. Using insights and data gathered from the Aussie market specifically. While the headlines are shouting about a massive 300% uplift in daily revenue across Australia, there’s a quieter, more concerning story happening behind the scenes: a 16% drop in contribution margin. It was such a great chat, and we really leaned into why "more volume" doesn't always mean "more profit." We dived deep into: The Margin Trap 🪤: How aggressive discounting and rising acquisition costs are thinning out profits, even when traffic is hitting record highs. A New North Star 🧭: Why the most resilient brands are moving away from ROAS and embracing Contribution Margin to guide their decision-making. The Future of Discovery 🚀: The undeniable rise of TikTok and AI-driven discovery in the Australian market and how to play in that space effectively. Strategy for 2026 📈: Why it’s time to stop chasing top-line vanity metrics and start building a profit-first roadmap for the year ahead. The biggest takeaway? Most SaaS leaders say they want Enterprise AEs... But in the ANZ market right now, I’m seeing strong SMB reps being promoted or hired into enterprise roles, then hitting a wall with multithreading, procurement and 9+ month cycles. The shift isn’t about deal size. It’s about how deals get done. 🛍️ SMB/B2C success = activity, pace, single-threaded deals 🏢 Enterprise success = navigation, consensus, political mapping The enterprise reps getting hired fastest in ANZ right now all have: - MEDDPICC deal structure - Documented success plans - Strong stakeholder mapping (5–8+ contacts early) - Commercial alignment before POC It’s actually less about “big logos” than people think, and more about repeatable deal strategy. These are the profiles most in demand and the hardest to secure for SaaS companies building true enterprise capability in ANZ.
