Being the first investor in a startup is a privilege, but it rarely feels obvious at the time. At the earliest stages, there are usually very few numbers to analyze and very little certainty. Every investment is a leap of conviction. So what do you rely on? In our experience, it comes down to the founder, the depth of their thinking, and the feeling that they are seeing something the rest of the market has not yet recognized. That is exactly what happened with CulturePulse. We met Justin E. Lane in our co-working space. Fresh out of Oxford, deep in his research, he was asking questions most people simply overlooked. As a cognitive scientist, he was building something that the market had not yet caught up with. We decided to back him early, and we have been proud to support the company ever since. Recently, CulturePulse closed a new funding round led by Final Frontier (Niels Vejrup Carlsen), and we could not be happier to see the company continue its journey. For those who are not familiar with CulturePulse, the company builds AI that models human behaviour at scale. Its platform, ARES, creates psychological digital twins of audiences, quantifying anger, anxiety, morality, hate speech and more than 50 other behavioural dimensions across over 70 languages. It helps organisations understand social dynamics and anticipate conflict before it escalates. One of the reasons the technology is particularly interesting is that it has clear dual-use applications. The same core capability that helps organisations better understand people and communities can also support governments and defence organisations in anticipating instability and emerging threats. That broader potential is one of the reasons the company is now supported by NATO DIANA. Congratulations to Justin E. Lane and the entire CulturePulse team on reaching another important milestone. We are excited to keep supporting the journey. If you would like to hear the full story behind the company and its technology, Justin recently joined Martin Majercin on the Rockets and Radars podcast. It is worth a listen. 🎙️ Justin E. Lane F. Back from Limassol. ☀️ Our colleagues Dusan Duffek and Kristína Mončeková joined founders, investors, and operators at CarryON (Zero One Hundred Conferences) and Doers Summit Limassol 2026. Dusan moderated the opening CarryON panel on cross-regional capital and geopolitics, bringing together perspectives from Europe and the GCC. A big thank you to the panelists: Linda Brunner (Imagine You Know), Demetrios Zoppos (33East), and Herve Cuviliez (Id4 ventures). 🌍 Kristína joined as a jury member, meeting ambitious founders and helping evaluate their startups through the Startup Spotlight Program at the Doers Summit, led by Marianna Szarkova. 🚀 But as always, these events are really about the people and it was great to see so many familiar faces again. ❤️ Congratulations to The Doers Company and the whole team on another amazing event. Already looking forward to the next one in Dubai. 🤝

How do you convince investors who don’t fully understand the tech? 🤔 This question was tackled during an interview between Roger Hilton and our portfolio founder Dr. Justin E. Lane at the Zero One Hundred Conferences Conference in Vienna. 🎙️ Key insight: ✅ Investors don’t need to understand the technology ✅ They need to understand the business opportunity behind it ✅ Focus on use cases, not the technology itself Check out the interview for more insights 👀

It was a pleasure to be part of the HalovaMake Hackathon and see firsthand the talent and creativity of the next generation of tech leaders. 💻✨ We are proud to have supported this event by providing the challenge for the participating high school teams, focusing on building a "Community & Startup Networking System." High school teams tackled a real-world problem, developing digital prototypes that simplify how founders, operators and investors connect and prioritize their needs. Our colleague Kristína Mončeková served on the jury alongside Viktor Stefanak (The Doers Company), Jakub Jelínek (Upfan), and Mário Letovanec (WEZEO), evaluating the innovative solutions brought to life by the students. Congratulations to the winning teams and to all the students who proved that the future of tech is in capable hands! And huge thanks to the organizers as well (Lukáš Nemec) 🚀

A major milestone for the CEE fintech ecosystem! 🤝✨ We are proud to share that our portfolio company Malcom Finance has partnered with Tatra banka to pilot a new approach for business financing in Slovakia. By integrating Malcom’s digital invoice financing solution directly into the Tatra banka mobile app, selected SME clients can now bypass the 30–90 days waiting for payment and turn their receivables into immediate cash. The solution enables businesses to unlock up to 80% of invoice value, typically within 24 hours. At Zero One Hundred, we actively support our portfolio companies in building meaningful partnerships across the region. Happy to support Malcom Finance on this journey and help facilitate this collaboration.
