Subsea cables are no longer just the internet. They are becoming development infrastructure. Today, over 95% of global data traffic flows through more than 1.4 million km of subsea cables. But their determinant role is expanding fast. They are starting to enable: 1) offshore energy integration, 2) connectivity for remote regions and 3) above all ocean and climate data systems In other words, they are evolving into multi-purpose corridors linking data, energy and environment. Yet there is a gap: we are scaling their strategic value. But not our ability to understand what happens around them in real time. And that matters! Because sustainability is not only about building infrastructure. It is about operating it with awareness and strategic vision. Cables are no longer just point-to-point assets. They are becoming multi-purpose infrastructure corridors, linking data, energy and environmental intelligence. The next step is not more cables, it is smarter ones. #SubmarineCables #BlueEconomy #CriticalInfrastructure #OceanTechnology #IoUT WSENSE #SubmarineCables #BlueEconomy #DigitalInfrastructure Chiara Petrioli #MaritimeSecurity #Connectivity #IoUT #EnergyTransition #OffshoreEnergy #ClimateTech #OceanData

  • 🔊 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. Some are built to give voice to what has never been heard. At TechEmotion.com Summit 2026, our CEO Chiara Petrioli will share the vision behind WSENSE: a technology that doesn’t just collect data — it enables the ocean to speak.  🌊 With the #InternetofUnderwaterThings, #WSENSE has developed #wireless #networks capable of operating at depths of up to 3,000 meters, turning the ocean into a space that can finally be observed in #realtime: temperature, biodiversity, CO₂ levels, and many other environmental indicators. #Data that once could only be captured sporadically is now available continuously - supporting research, industry, and environmental policies with a completely new level of precision. #Technology designed to build the infrastructure of #knowledge, not just to collect information. For companies and institutions working in #sustainability, #energy, the #BlueEconomy, and #innovation, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. The point is not only to listen to the ocean. It is to make 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 based on what it tells us. #TechEmotionSummit #DeepTech #OceanInnovation #IoUT #underwater

Chiara Petrioli brings something extraordinary to Tech.Emotion Summit 2026. She calls it the Internet of Underwater Things: a Wi-Fi for the ocean, built by WSENSE, the deep-tech venture she co-founded and leads as CEO. Wireless networks reaching 3,000 meters below the surface, delivering real-time data on temperature, biodiversity and CO2 levels to protect marine ecosystems at scale. Recognized by the World Economic Forum, covered by CNN, National Geographic and BBC, and the work that earned Petrioli a place in Stanford's top 2% of scientists worldwide. Technology that actually listens to the ocean. The kind of story this Summit was built for. Get your pass and meet Chiara on May 27–28 at Triennale Milano. https://lnkd.in/dvYckJ6Y

  • ⚙️ “𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮.” — Chiara Petrioli In a recent conversation with Endeavor — the global community of high-impact founders — our CEO reflects on a pivotal moment in her journey: the realization that #research, on its own, is not enough to generate real-world #impact. 🌍 To create impact at scale, #science must translate into deployment. It must become infrastructure.  #WSense was born precisely to bridge this gap, transforming frontier research in the #InternetOfUnderwaterThings into industrial-grade solutions, designed to operate reliably in one of the most complex and least accessible environments on earth: the #ocean. 🌊 Today, WSense’s technologies: — enable real-time monitoring of critical subsea infrastructure — support safer, more efficient offshore operations — provide essential #data to understand + protect marine ecosystems Yet, the transition from lab to market is not only technological. It requires a shift from experimentation to reliability, from research output to scalable impact. In this journey, global platforms such as #Endeavor act as true scale enablers. For #deeptech ventures, where development cycles are longer and the path to market inherently uncertain, this kind of ecosystem is not optional, it’s foundational. 👁️🗨️ Full interview here: https://lnkd.in/drgWBgsp #BlueEconomy #Innovation #Scaleup #IoUT #Underwater _______ ⚙️ “𝐕𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐞̀ 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐨̀ 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐞.”

🔗 L’articolo completo di Riccardo Leoni su Formiche > https://lnkd.in/drb9aa5u ____ 🛜 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐳 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬: how the underwater domain is becoming one of the strategic frontiers of our time. The Strait of Hormuz is just 33km wide at its narrowest point. Yet a huge share of the world’s energy flows through it. Moments of geopolitical tension remind us of a critical reality: #global #security is increasingly decided BENEATH THE WAVES. Across the seabed run the true arteries of the global system: more than 1.4million km of submarine cables carrying about 98% of the world’s digital communications, alongside pipelines and other strategic energy infrastructures. As highlighted in an analysis by 🗞️ Formiche, the underwater domain is rapidly becoming a new arena of technological and strategic competition. In this context, new solutions are emerging to monitor and connect the underwater world without relying solely on vulnerable physical infrastructure. 🌊 At #WSense, we are working in this direction by developing #IoUT technologies that enable real-time underwater communications down to 3,000 mt, helping to monitor and understand a part of the global economy that has long remained invisible.

Up to 40% shorter. Sea routes are reshaping geopolitics & world economy. That’s why the #Arctic is becoming a strategic shipping corridor. Environmental monitoring in the Arctic is no longer just about climate. It is becoming about controlling a strategic corridor. Traffic along the Northern Sea Route is accelerating, with 38 million tons of cargo already moving through fragile Arctic ecosystems. At the same time, scientific and institutional reports highlight a structural shift: • Arctic sea #ice declining by 13% per decade (NASA / NSIDC satellite data) • Arctic #shipping increasing 30–40% in the last decade (Arctic Council / PAME) • #Transit between Asia and Europe reduced by up to 40% via Arctic routes (WEF / DNV) • #Underwater noise levels doubling in some regions (peer reviewed ocean acoustic studies) This is no longer just an environmental story. It is a geopolitical infrastructure story. Monitoring ice dynamics, salinity, temperature, underwater noise, pollution and ocean currents is not only about ecosystem protection. It is about situational awareness for one of the most strategic maritime corridors on the planet. In remote environments like the Arctic, real time ocean data becomes operational intelligence. Environmental sensing becomes infrastructure. The real question is not whether the Arctic will be monitored. It is who will build the sensing layer that enables it. #Arctic #NorthernSeaRoute #OceanMonitoring #MaritimeSecurity #OceanTechnology #EnvironmentalIntelligence Chiara Petrioli #UnderwaterMonitoring WSENSE #Underwaterinfrastructure #Seapolitics
