We're wrapping up 🌎 Month with a #TBT to some of our most groundbreaking sustainability projects! We're honored to have delivered San Francisco's first core & shell project to achieve ILFI Zero Carbon certification and the world's first TRUE Certification for Zero Waste for Construction-certified project, TRUE Certification for Zero Waste for Construction-certified public project, and LEED v4 Platinum-Certified airport terminal: 1) GENESIS Marina: World's 1st TRUE Certification for Zero Waste for Construction-Certified Project GENESIS Marina, an expansive laboratory and office campus in Brisbane, CA, diverted 98.4% of construction waste from landfills. GENESIS Marina was awarded TRUE Gold in February 2024, underscoring Webcor's commitment to pioneering sustainable construction practices and advancing zero waste goals across the industry. 2) Contra Costa County Administration Building and Redevelopment (CCC ADR) Project: World's 1st TRUE Certification for Zero Waste for Construction-Certified Public Project CCC ADR diverted 95.07% of construction waste from landfills and waste-to-energy facilities, i.e. over 15,000 tons of waste were reduced, reused, recycled, composted and/or recovered for productive use in nature or the economy. The CCC ADR project included the abatement/demolition of 12-story administration building and historic county jail (phase 1) and new construction of a 3-story administration building and outdoor plaza (phase 2) in Martinez, CA. 3) Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Boarding Area B (BAB): 1st Airport Terminal in the World to Achieve LEED v4 Platinum Certification & Full WELL Core Certification (Platinum) Harvey Milk T1 BAB at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) uses 60% less energy than comparable facilities while enhancing human health and well-being, prioritizing built environment features impacting air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community. 4) 300 Kansas: San Francisco's 1st Core & Shell Project to Achieve ILFI Zero Carbon certification 300 Kansas is San Francisco's premier R&D hub for biotech, manufacturing, robotics and autonomous vehicles. The project's foundations and superstructure accounted for 72% of its embodied carbon, presenting a significant opportunity for carbon reduction. Our team optimized the concrete mix designs and reduced the cement content, reducing the project’s global warming potential (GWP).

Happy Patient Experience Week! Here's a #PortfolioThrowback to the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center—the only Level I trauma center in San Francisco and Northern San Mateo County, the largest acute inpatient and rehabilitation hospital for psychiatric patients, and the only acute hospital that provides 24-hour psychiatric emergency services. Today, ZSFGH serves ~100,000 patients annually and provides 20% of the city's inpatient care. We're excited to share that the Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) Terminal Restroom Renovation Program, Phase 1 has been named an Airport Business News 2026 Project of the Year! This award honors the renovation program for transforming OAK's aging restroom facilities into a "modern, accessible, and hospitality-inspired passenger experience while maintaining full terminal operations." Phase 1 improvements included spacious ADA-compliant stalls, LED stall occupancy indicators, centralized hands-free sink areas, improved lighting, and sound-absorbing materials. Congratulations to Business Development Director Brooke Walbuck, Assoc. DBIA on her appointment to the ULI Los Angeles (ULI-LA) Hospitality & Entertainment Development Council's (HEDC's) leadership team as Vice Chair of Sports & Major Event Venues! ULI-LA represents one of the most influential groups shaping the future of hospitality and entertainment development in Los Angeles. As Vice Chair, Brooke will advise on large-scale developments and development strategies related to large event-driven destinations, connect the council with major event infrastructure stakeholders, and identify appropriate projects, case studies, and leaders to inform council programming. Last month, we had the privilege of hosting ULI-LA HEDC's council meeting at our downtown LA office, where council member speakers (Brooke Walbuck and Jon Blanchard, BLVD Hospitality Group) and guest speakers (Jenny Chavez, Board Member, Los Angeles Public Works and Edgar Khalatian, Partner, Mayer Brown LLP) dug into the biggest challenges and opportunities facing hospitality and entertainment development in LA. "ULI-LA and Webcor share a strong commitment to thoughtful development, long-term community impact, and innovation in LA's built environment," Brooke says. "LA is entering a transformative period driven by major global events and renewed investment in sports, hospitality, and large-scale civic infrastructure. Happy 🌎 Day—or if you're like us and celebrate throughout April, Earth Month! Although sustainability is a year-round priority, this day/month is an important reminder to reflect on the environmental impact of our everyday choices and take action to protect our priceless shared resources. Over the last few weeks, Webcorians have cleaned up Santa Monica State Beach, volunteered with Friends of the Urban Forest, and prioritized sustainable habits—composting/recycling, planting vegetables/trees, eliminating single-use plastic, etc. To better understand our critical role in mitigating construction's impact on climate change, they've also joined weekly Earth Month presentations on construction-specific topics like carbon reduction on projects and the state of sustainability in California. Shout-out to Sr. Sustainability Director Sarah Rege and Sustainability Manager Kavita Karmarkar for organizing a jam-packed line-up of Earth Month events this year! #EarthDay2026

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's (SCVMC's) Behavioral Health Services Center is nearing the finish line! The team's recent efforts include interior buildout and the integration of public art to enhance patient comfort within the psychiatric care environment. Their construction approach reflects the facility’s purpose, uniting art, infrastructure, and patient-centered design: Durable finishes, patient-safe furniture, and art installations balance resilience with aesthetics, and a new seismically engineered connector bridge links the BHSC to the existing emergency services department, improving circulation and continuity of care. #BuildWithWebcor 📷: Webcor Marketing Manager Brandon Blum

Seven months ago, we handed over the keys to Mesa Court's Oso Towers at UC Irvine! This 89,200-SF, design-build student housing project provides 437 new residence hall beds for undergraduate students in quad occupancy rooms. #TBT to our annual Georgia Institute of Technology recruiting trip last month! Assistant Quality Manager Melanie Walker (co-leader of The Collective, Webcor's Black employee resource group) and Assistant Project Manager Niki Blinov, RA, LEED AP (member of Webcor's college recruiting team and co-leader of our summer internship program) led an engaging presentation on the resolution process from a project management perspective to Dr. Eric Marks' Construction Law class. They dove into subcontractor agreements, scopes of work, common types of communication in construction (RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, etc.), the QA/QC process, and several relevant case studies on different aspects of risk mitigation. They wrapped up the trip with Day in the Lobby, a rare opportunity to connect with Georgia Tech's civil engineering students on campus without competition from other companies, and a lively dinner with our incoming Georgia Tech interns! #WhyWebcor

Celebrate Earth Day at AIA San Francisco's Circularity in Practice Symposium! On April 22 at 2:35 p.m., Sustainability Manager Kavita Karmarkar will join our partners from Perkins&Will and Vanir for a deep dive into the evolution of Contra Costa County Administration Building—the first public building to achieve TRUE Certification for Zero Waste (Gold) in Construction. They'll explore the project's circular strategies, lessons learned from a highly collaborative design-build process, the wins/challenges of managed demolition, building with reused materials, the materials supply chain and more.
